More eyeshadow tips & tricks
Applying eyeshadow can be tricky. There are so many colours and types: powders, creams, sticks... You can apply it in many Man ways, and there are plenty of tips and tricks to help. Here’s everything summarised for you:
- Choose a colour that suits you – Start by using a colour that complements your eye tint. You can choose from hundreds of colours. Above we explained some shades that suit your eye colour well.
- Eyeshadow primer – Use an eyeshadow primer. It helps blend eyeshadow more easily, keeps it longer, fades less, and colours come out beautifully!
- Build up your eyeshadow – For bright or dark shades, it’s best to build up the colour gradually. Better to apply one shade several times than to load your brush with a lot of powder at once. This Man method lets you blend well after each step and see when you’ve applied enough eyeshadow.
- Blend eyeshadow well – This is a must to create a nice transition. You want to avoid harsh lines. Blending with different brushes helps achieve a smooth finish.
- Watch tutorials of people applying eyeshadow – Watching videos of people applying eyeshadow can really help. You can follow along and try the same techniques. Such videos are easy to find everywhere.
Make-up tips & tricks for eyebrows
As you know, eyebrows aren't twins but sisters. Often your eyebrows are uneven, stray hairs stick out, or it’s hard to shape them perfectly. We all know eyebrows can be the trickiest part of your make-up routine. And that’s exactly what we’re helping you with! We gathered all kinds of tips and tricks to make it easier for you. Keep your brows fleeky with our best tips!
Eyebrow hacks for flawless eyebrows
- Don’t overpluck your eyebrows – To get Perfecte eyebrows, it’s important not to remove too many hairs. Overplucking can make your eyebrow shape look unnatural. To avoid this, here’s a great tip: brush your hairs upwards with an eyebrow brush before plucking and remove only hairs sticking out at the lower edge. This way, you won’t remove the good hairs.
- Use two shades when filling in your brows – To make your eyebrows look longer, use two powder shades. For the inner part of your brow, choose a lighter colour, slightly lighter than your hair colour. For the middle and tail, use a shade matching your hair colour.
- Promote eyebrow growth – To make your brows fleek even more, help them grow beautifully. Use castor oil to stimulate growth by boosting blood circulation. Our tip is the Nanobrow Eyebrow Serum.
- Use an eyebrow gel – For the best results, an eyebrow gel is ideal. It shapes your brows nicely and keeps them neat all day long!
- Apply a highlighter – Add a bit of shine to complete your brow look. Applying highlighter just above your brow arch makes it look higher. You can also apply some below your brows to sharpen the lines. The highlight brings more attention to your eyes. This way, your brows really fleek!

More tips & tricks
There are many more handy tips to help you match lip products perfectly to your skin tone. Consider your hair colour, undertone, and whether you should choose a Glossy, Matte, or Creamy lipstick! Read more below:
Tip 1: Consider your hair colour
Your hair colour also plays a role in picking the best lip colour. Find your hair colour below with a matching lip shade.
- Blonde hair → Try nude shades or light pink and brown tones.
- Brown hair → Try dark red, pink-beige, or dark pink colours.
- Black hair → Bordeaux creates a beautiful effect, also brown tones, fuchSia, and raspberry red.
- Red hair → Copper and bronze shades, or even orange or red with brown undertones suit you beautifully.
Tip 2: How to determine your skin’s undertone?
Here are tips to discover your skin’s undertone. This is important as it helps you find the best lip colour and also assists in choosing other make-up products.
- See which Si jewellery suits you better. If gold Si jewellery brightens your face and silver makes you look dull, you have a warm undertone. If silver jewellery suits you better, then your undertone is cool.
- Look at the colour of the veins on your wrists. If they appear blue, you likely have a cool undertone. If green or olive, you have a warm undertone. If you’re unsure, you might have a neutral undertone.
Tip 3: Which lipstick type suits me best: Glossy, Creamy or Matte?
Once you find the right colour, you can choose between a glossy finish, a Matte, Glossy, or a lipstick with a Creamy texture.
Glossy – Hydrates more than Matte lipstick and stands out. For a subtler look, a Creamy or Matte lipstick is better.
Matte – Gives intense colour and lasts longer than glossy lipsticks. Some lipsticks can dry out lips.
Creamy – Hydrates and has intense colour but doesn’t last as long as Matte lipstick.
Glossy – Provides lots of shine and hydrates lips. A Glossy stick makes your lips look fuller. The gloss really stands out.
Make-up tips & tricks with accessories

Tip 1: Dust powder onto your lashes
After your first coat of mascara, dust your lashes with loose powder – this adds volume by making lashes look thicker. Add a second coat of mascara to cover the powder, and voilà!
Tip 2: Use eyeshadow as Eyeliner
No Eyeliner? We got you! Wet a small brush with some water and dip it into your eyeshadow. Line your eye as you would with a Eyeliner and you’re done! A Perfecte kit for this is the Eyeliner by Ilu and Bourjois eyeshadow:
Tip 3: Curl your lashes more than once
Want long, full lashes? Don’t make the common mistake of curling lashes only once. Pulse over the entire length a few times for a natural-looking curl. A good eyelash curler for this is the Kashki Eyelash curler:
Tip 4: Clean your sponge in 1 minute
Fill a bowl with warm water, add a drop of washing-up liquid and soak your sponge. Place the bowl in the microwave for 1 minute and rinse the sponge once the water has cooled. Ready-to-use again! Check out the sponge below you can use;)
Tip 5: Use a invisibobble
These elastics let you wear a ponytail or bun without leaving marks. The bands stretch a lot and have a strong grip. Ideal for a long workday or a warm summer day!
