Sleek Bun is the ultimate hair trend for a smooth, polished look. With the right approach, you can effortlessly create your perfect sleek bun. Discover all the products to style a tight knot and many more tips for sleek styles.
What is a sleek bun and why is it popular?
A sleek bun is a smooth knot with hair styled flat and back. No frizz, no flyaways. It looks clean and well-groomed, perfect for casual or elegant occasions, and ideal for a bad hair day. It works on almost every hair type. A sleek bun always looks great.
What products do you need for a perfect sleek bun?
For a long-lasting sleek bun, you need a combination of styling products and tools. Think of a hair gel, wax or pomade. These provide hold and smooth baby hairs. Also essential are a Spray hair spray and a hair serum or oil for a shiny finish. For tools, a fine comb or slick brush is essential, alongside hair elastics and hairpins.
How do you create a sleek bun?
-
Step one: Prepare your hair
Brush your hair thoroughly until it’s smooth and tangle-free. If your hair is curly or wavy, first apply heat protection and smooth your hair with a straightener. -
Step two: Separate your hair into two sections
Take the top section of your hair and clip it away temporarily. This lets you smooth the underneath part properly first. -
Step three: Smooth the underneath part
Apply hair gel or wax to the loose hair. Brush it tightly back until it lies flat against your head with no strands sticking out. -
Step four: Make a ponytail
Tie your hair into a ponytail. Choose the height you like: a high ponytail creates a tighter, lifting look, while a low ponytail looks softer. -
Step five: Finish the top section
Release the clipped top section and comb it neatly again. You can create a middle part with a tail comb if you like. -
Step six: Combine all sections
Attach the top section to the existing ponytail. You can use a second elastic or tie everything together again with one elastic. -
Step seven: Make your bun and fix it
Twist the ponytail into a bun and secure it with hairpins. Finish your look with Spray hair spray.
How do you prevent frizz and flyaways?
Frizz and flyaways can ruin your sleek bun, but you can easily avoid this with good gel, Spray hair spray and a bit of hair oil for extra smoothness. Tip: use an old toothbrush with Spray hair spray to smooth it down.
