3 festive hair looks!

  • 7 min reading time
Hairlooks_blog

We share with you 3 hair looks suitable for every festive occasion! Since December is the party season, we don’t want to leave you out in the cold! Grab your elastics, hairspray, mirror, and brush and read on quickly.

The looks we’re going to discuss can be made quickly and easily but look like you’ve spent an hour at the hairdresser. Need we say more?

The following looks can be done with freshly washed hair, but also later in your hair-washing routine if you have a last-minute spontaneous outing. So no panic, ideal for every occasion even with little time.

Time for step 1, prepping your hair before you start your masterpiece.

We recommend following these steps for all three hair looks to ensure you get the true salon look and feel.

Tip #1 | Dry shampoo

Flat hair, little volume, and maybe a bit oily?

For a light, voluminous, and effortless look, we first spray dry shampoo from the roots into the hair. Don’t be afraid to use too much; a little extra volume is never wrong. This way, you add texture to your hair so you have more grip to style your hair later and to help the shape of the look hold better. Let the dry shampoo work in for a moment and then comb your hair well.

Tip #2 | Wavy hair

We find straight hair beautiful. Still, with a party hair look, we want to take it a step further.

The holy grail for volume is waves in the hair. Take a blow-dry brush, curling iron, or other styling tool to create a slight wave in the hair. This way, the hair look will definitely appear thoughtful and fancy, whether left or right. By styling your hair beforehand, you ensure the ends of your hair have a nice polished effect.

Tip #3 | Essentials

Make sure you always have the right products at home so you never run out when you want to style your hair last minute. We recommend always having the following essentials in your cabinet:

Dry shampoo

Hairspray

Volumizing powder

Teasing brush or comb

Clips

Elastics

Now that we have lined up all the preparatory tips, we can start with…

Hair look #1 Let’s get started!

STEP 1

Take the top layer of your hair in your hand; this can be slightly less than half of all your hair.

STEP 2

Take a thin elastic band and tie the top half of your hair with this elastic.

STEP 3

Fold the top tied hair forward and put the remaining layer of hair into a thin elastic band.

STEP 4

Lay the top tied hair back over the lower ponytail. Take the top layer in both hands and pull your hair apart in the middle to create a ‘hole’.

STEP 5

Pull the tail of the top layer through the hole from the top side. This should give you two twisted sides on either side of the hole in the tied hair.

STEP 6

Place two fingers from underneath at the top layer of hair in the hole. Make a twisting motion to the right. Your two fingers will now come out at the bottom ponytail.

STEP 7

Now take the bottom ponytail with your finger and pull it through the top layer of hair.

STEP 8

We’re almost there! Pull the top elastic tight and then the bottom one.

STEP 9

Start by gently pulling apart the sides to accentuate the twisted section of hair.

STEP 10

Take some volumizing powder and spread it over the base of your ponytail; this creates volume and a teased effect. Voila! Your first party look is ready.

Were you able to follow everything? Then let’s quickly move on to…

Hairstyle #2 Here we go!

STEP 1

Take the top layer of your hair in your hand; this can be slightly less than half of all your hair.

STEP 2

Twist the hair twice clockwise and hold the top layer of hair firmly.

STEP 3

While twisting the ponytail, make a circular motion clockwise upwards. Hold your hair firmly in this position.

STEP 4

Take a hair clip in your hand and clip it onto the twisted section of hair. Lay the ponytail forward and check if all your twisted hair is in the clip and if the ponytail stands straight up.

STEP 5

Lay the ponytail back over the clip again. Make sure the hair is well distributed so the clip is no longer visible. Take some volumizing powder and spread it over the base of the ponytail; this creates volume and a teased effect. Yes, you are ready to go! That wasn’t so hard, right?

And now we’ve reached the last look. Soon you’ll have three options to confidently step out the door. Even better, if your friends ask how you got your hair so beautiful, you can simply share these tips with them! Saves a lot of hassle…

Hairstyle #3 Have fun at your party!

STEP 1

Take the top layer of your hair in your hand; this can be slightly less than half of all your hair.

STEP 2

Divide the top layer of hair into three sections.

STEP 3

Make a braid from the top layer of hair and hold the end firmly. Don’t put an elastic on it yet!

STEP 4

Loosen the braid at every section so it becomes much wider and looser.

STEP 5

Take the braid and twist it clockwise upwards.

STEP 6

Twist the braid downward until you’ve almost gone all the way around. Don’t worry if the bottom layer of the braid loosens; this actually creates a nice effect.

STEP 7

Now lift the middle part of your braided and twisted ‘bun’ upwards and tuck the middle part of the braid underneath. This will keep it in place. Don’t let go yet!

STEP 8

Take some hairpins in your hand and secure the braided bun on both sides in your hair.

STEP 9

Start by gently pulling apart the sides around the bun.

STEP 10

Neatly style the loose strands at the bottom of the braid. Use some hairspray to keep the braided bun in shape all evening. Time to dance with perfect hair!
