As long as your hair looks good! Many would swear by this quote – our hair is one of the most important parts of our appearance. During the holidays, it can also be really fun to do something different with your hair!
Do you like figuring out which hairstyle suits you? But find it difficult to create a new look without having to color your hair or get a specific cut? Read on! Below we have created three fantastic hair looks with explanations and for which hair type the hair look is suitable. Are you ready?!
Hair Look #1
How festive is this look? A real hair look for the holidays! And actually not as difficult as it looks. First of all, it’s important to prepare your hair well. Make your hair stiff and add some volume. With freshly washed hair, the hair look won’t hold well because the hair is too smooth. Did you just wash your hair? No problem! With the Schwarzkopf Osis Volume Up your hair gets amazing volume and stays in place all day! Spray the Schwarzkopf Osis Volume Up Booster Spray on your dry hair. Do this from about 30 cm away from the hair. Then enjoy your intense volume! Once your hair is updo-proof, we can start the step-by-step plan! This hair look is especially for everyone with medium or long lengths. And ideal for normal to thick hair.

The step-by-step plan for hair look #1:
Curious how to get this masterpiece in your hair? Below are the four handy steps:
Step 1 - Make a braid
Make sure to braid one side with three strands all the way to the end. Then gently pull the strands of the braid apart a bit. This creates a nice, full braid.
Step 2 - Put the front hair into a ponytail
Now you have half the hair pinned up. For an extra nice effect, you can twist the ponytail inward (as shown in the photo).
Step 3 - Make a low bun
Gather all the hair together and make a low bun. This is the base of the hairstyle! In step 4 we add the finishing touches
Step 4 - The finishing touches
Now that the low bun is in the hair, we turn the low bun into a casual bun. By pinning the bun in some places with clips, you make the bun a bit more playful. The thicker the hair, the more clips you need. As a finishing touch, use a strong hairspray, for example the Goldwell Stylesign Sprayer. The hairspray provides an extremely strong hold. So you don’t have to worry about your hairstyle staying perfect all day. Perfect!
You can use these products for hair look #1:
- Pins
- Elastic band (thin)
- Maria Nila Pure Set: before pinning up, it is first important to properly care for the hair with volume shampoo and conditioner. Good preparation is half the battle! The Maria Nila Pure Volume Care Set is a wonderful, detangling, lightweight set that contains Pro-Vitamin B5 and is specially developed to give extra volume and resilience to the hair. Washing your hair with this set saves a lot of work before you start pinning up. Because using too many styling products can also have a negative effect. Using matching products is a real must during pinning up!
- Schwarzkopf Volume Up: with this spray you prepare the hair, and the volume spray ensures the clips stay in place.
- Goldwell Sprayer Hair Spray: a strong hairspray to keep the hair firmly in place.
Hair Look #2
We are totally in love with this classic hair look for the holidays! A real party hairstyle. And do you have thin to normal hair? Then this hair look is really recommended for your hair. AND, this hair look looks best on medium-length hair. For this look, it is important to style the hair well beforehand with volume styling products and then tease for extra volume.

The step-by-step plan for hair look #2:
Can't wait to get started? Then quickly read which steps to take for this fantastic hair look!
Step 1 - Give your hair a volume boost
If you naturally have smooth and straight hair, use for extra volume the Goldwell Dry Boost Creative Texture specially made to create texture in your hair. Your hair gets a light texture with beautiful fresh volume. Tease your hair a bit to get more volume. This style also works very well if you curled your hair beforehand. This can also be done while pinning up; we curled the hair at step 4.
Step 2 - Make a low ponytail
Make sure the ponytail is tight in the hair tie. It's easier to start with a tight ponytail.
Step 3 - Twist the ponytail inward
You can do this with your fingers or by using the tip of a comb to part the hair just above the ponytail, where you can twist the ponytail through. Make sure the ponytail goes through the hole from the outside to the inside.
Step 4 - Curl the hair at the ends
It is possible to curl the ends, which makes the hair look a bit more playful! And it makes it much easier to pin up the hair. Before you start with the curling iron, use a heat spray to protect your hair as well as possible. The CHI 44 Iron Guard Spray is perfect, because the spray forms a protective layer around the hair, which protects against drying out and damage. The hair is not weighed down and also gets a beautiful shine.
Step 5 - Tease the ponytail a little
By teasing the bottom a little, you get more body and the bun will look much fuller.
Step 6 - Roll the ponytail vertically upwards
Secure it at the top with clips. Check carefully where you can still add clips to secure it tighter and voila!
You can use these products for hair look #2:
- Pins
- Elastic band
- Goldwell Dry Boost Creative Texture: gives the hair a light texture and does not weigh the hair down.
- CHI 44 Iron Guard Spray: a heat protection for your hair. By using the blow dry spray, you prevent frizz and static hair. Your hair gets a beautiful shine!
- L'Oréal Fix Anti-Frizz Spray: to complete the hair look perfectly, this is a perfect hairspray! A fixing spray for a unique and long-lasting anti-frizz protection. Even in extreme weather conditions, the hair won’t frizz. Adds shine to your hair and the spray also works as a setting agent.
Hair Look #3
Wow, a unique hair look! It may seem difficult, but once you master this technique, this hair look will be in your hair in no time! Hair look number 3 is perfect for long hair and suitable for both thin and thick hair. You can braid the braids tight or loose to create a completely different look!

The step-by-step plan for hair look #3:
Step 1 - Secure the top
Before you start, it’s helpful to create more volume, which you can do by Schwarzkopf Osis Dust It to be used at the hair roots. It is a mattifying powder that creates a rough, matte, and voluminous look. Part the hair at the top and make sure it is secured backwards (just below the crown) with a thin elastic or, as in the photo, with clips.
Step 2 - Take a section from the side
Secure the section from the left or right side of the head over the first section. This way the elastic or pins are not visible. Then secure the section with a pin.
Step 3 - Take a section from the other side
Make sure this section also falls over the other sections. Then secure it with a pin!
Step 4 - Secure the remaining hair
Just like in steps two and three, repeat the same action.
Step 5 - Secure the last section on the other side
Make sure the pins are not visible and secure the hair with multiple pins if needed.
Step 6 - Divide the loose hair into two parts
To make it easier, we made two ponytails, but this is not necessary; you can also go straight to braiding. :)
Step 7 - Make two braids
Once you have separated the hair, start braiding. Try to braid as far as possible so you can neatly tuck away the ends later. After braiding, you can gently pull the braids apart to make them bigger and thus the look a bit more playful!
Step 8 - Secure the braids with pins
Finally, it’s important to secure the braids wrapped around each other upwards with pins. You can do this in several ways, of course according to your own taste! Then finish the hair look with hairspray. A real recommendation for any updo is the TIGI Masterpiece Shine Spray, it gives your hair extreme shine and has a medium to strong hold. This spray gives you the best look and is therefore a true masterpiece!
You can use these products for hair look #3:
- Pins
- 2/3 thin elastics
- Schwarzkopf Osis Dust It: prep the hair with Schwarzkopf Osis Dust It, a volume product that makes your hair stiff and thus creates long-lasting hold. Because many pins are needed for this hair look, the volume powder is perfect to secure the pins even better in your hair. And volume at the roots stays all day long with Schwarzkopf Osis Dust It.
- TIGI Masterpiece Shine Spray: Lastly, the Shine Spray is great to make the look shine even more!
