8 years of Haarspullen.nl! From cold storage to millions of orders

We can hardly believe it ourselves, but Haarspullen.nl is 8 years old! What started with one enthusiastic entrepreneur and a lot of love for hair care has grown into a lively community of hair lovers (that’s you!). And a team that works every day with passion to make your routine just a little more enjoyable and easier.

Time to look back, because so much has happened since October 2017…

 

From folding boxes to robots and AI (yes, really)

In the autumn of 2017, Haarspullen.nl started with a simple idea: why is it so hard to find nice, reliable hair products all in one place? That frustration was the start of something big and the webshop went live. The warehouse was in a cold storage room, luckily it was switched off. In the spring of 2019, all our products were also in one place in a warehouse. No more chaos, but order. And believe us, that felt like a victory.

Fast forward to the summer of 2019: we got an automatic box closer. That may not sound spectacular, but if you have ever sealed hundreds of boxes by hand every day... then you understand our joy.

Team Haarspullen grows (just like our dream)

In December 2019, we suddenly were ten! Every new colleague brought not only extra hands but also new ideas and energy. Together in 2020, we added make-up and launched our own brand More Haircare. A year later, it was time to expand with skincare. 

 

Our goal? To make you shine from head to toe, because at Haarspullen you find everything to feel beautiful, inside and out. Whether you are looking for a shampoo that makes your curls pop, a hair mask for your Sunday self-care moment, or a lipstick that makes you feel unstoppable... we’ve got you.

And maybe even more important: we want to be there for everyone. Every skin type, every hair type, every style. Whether you have curls, are a platinum blonde, have sensitive skin, or suffer from dry hair, we make sure you feel seen and helped. Because self-care is for everyone, and beauty is not one size fits all. We stand by you with (hairdresser) experience and do our best to keep learning more about care products. So we can advise you on the best products for your hair or skin, as if you just asked your big sister.

Our highlights

In October 2022, we celebrated our 5-year anniversary and a month later we reached another milestone: the millionth order. That is truly thanks to you. And we realize that every day.

In September 2023, we moved to a new office and warehouse, with room to grow. And that growth came: early 2024 we had a community of 15.5K Instagram followers and 12K TikTok fans. By now, that is already 19.6K on TikTok and 18.3K on Instagram. Hello, growth!

In April 2024, AI-bot Hannah joined to support our customer service. She helps you 24/7 with your order or questions, quickly and helpfully.

As if that wasn’t special enough: in June 2025, we packed the 2 millionth order during our live stream. How great that we could share this with you!

 

Behind the beauty are the brains

Over the past years, we noticed that Haarspullen.nl is not only a place where you get your favourite beauty products, but that we also have something to tell about how we have grown as a company. That is why since 2024 we regularly appear at events like Shopping Today and the Webshop Trade Days, not to talk about shampoos or styling tips, but about our journey as a business.

About how we started in a small storage space, how we use technology (hello AI-bot Hannah!), and how we keep innovating. We expect to add robots to our warehouse team by the end of 2025 that can pick a full order. 

We find it important to learn from other entrepreneurs and to inspire ourselves as well, and yes, that sometimes feels a bit nerve-wracking, but above all very special.
