How do I start with the CG method?

Before you start with the CG Method, it’s important to know what type of curl you have. To be sure of your hair type, you can look at the following page: What is my curl type and discover the porosity & elasticity of your curls.

Once you know what kind of curl you have, it’s easier to find the right products. The next thing you need to find out is whether your hair can retain moisture well or not; this is called porosity. With low porosity, your hair takes more than eight hours to dry.. With high porosity, your hair needs less than two hours to dry. On the pages I have low porous curls and I have high porous curls all the characteristics of low- and high porous curls are listed, so you quickly find out which curl type you have and which care suits it best.

How do I choose CG products?

Now that you know your curl type and whether you have low or high porous curls, we can continue searching for the right products. What’s important to know is whether you need products with or without protein. If you have low porous hair, you have enough protein in your hair but too little moisture. A product with high hydration is important for that. Do you have high porous hair? Then you have enough moisture in your hair but too little protein.

Which CG care and styling products do I definitely need?

The main products you need are: a (final wash) shampoo, a conditioner, a hair mask, and styling products. Often it’s not entirely clear whether you should use shampoo for your curls or not. Let us explain: Washing your hair with a CG-friendly shampoo is not wrong at all and ensures your hair is properly cleansed. You can choose to gradually reduce shampoo washing. When choosing the right curly products, it is also important to consider bleached hair.
