Coloured hair is not only sensitive to fading but also needs plenty of care. We help you find the Perfecte hair routine by sharing some tips to boost your hair. Who wouldn't want a full, beautiful and well-maintained head of hair every day as if you just came from the salon? Protect and care for your coloured hair at the same time with the following hair routine. In this blog, we focus on the colours: red, brown, black, copper and Pastel shades. Are you a blonde? We've written a nice blog about that too!

An overview of the different hair colours

In this blog, you’ll find hair routines for the following colours:

  • Red coloured hair
  • Black coloured hair
  • Brown coloured hair
  • Copper coloured hair
  • Pastel coloured hair
  • Blonde coloured hair

The Perfecte hair routine for red coloured hair

A beautiful red hairstyle looks stunning, but can be tricky to maintain. Red pigments fade quickly from your hair. Such a shame! Especially for the redheads out there, we’ve put together a routine on how to best care for your red dyed hair. Keep reading!

What your hair type needs:

It seems obvious, but having healthy hair is crucial. Is your hair very dry? Then the red colour won’t stay as well. This is because your hair’s cuticle layer is often not properly closed, causing the colour to fade faster. So, care for your hair well: the healthier your hair, the longer you’ll enjoy your coloured look! A good reason to use a hair mask more often. We recommend using a mild shampoo. Many shampoos contain sulphates, cheap Silicones, too much salt and other harsh Sive cleansers that make your hair colour fade. Prefer a shampoo with natural ingredients or one specially formulated for red dyed hair. Tip: avoid anti-dandruff shampoo altogether.

Essentials for your beauty bag:

If you want to refresh your red hair colour, here are some colour refreshers:

The Perfecte hair routine:

Start with washing, using a mild shampoo. Is your hair freshly red coloured? Wash with, for example, the Redken Magnetics Shampoo and Conditioner. This set smells so lovely that you’d almost want to wash your hair every day. Of course, we don’t recommend that because it’s very damaging to the colour when it comes to fading. The colour-protecting shampoo and conditioner extend the life of your red hair. This colour-extending shampoo cleanses gently, and the conditioner adds shine. If your red colour is already fading, use a pigmented shampoo or mask, such as the Schwarzkopf Chroma ID Ruby Mask. It contains bright red pigments for a vibrant red hair colour. Or use the Bright Red Colour Mask by Maria Nila. This mask contains our special Colour Guard Complex, which nourishes and protects the hair. It’s 100% plant-based and free of sulphates and parabens. The mask gives an intense red colour. For a deep red shade, use the Maria Nila Colour Refresh Autumn Red. First, wash your hair with a shampoo. Then apply the colour mask in the desired shade. Leave on for 3–10 minutes. The longer the time, the deeper the colour. Prefer a colour mousse instead of a mask? That’s fine too! We recommend the Indola Color Style Mousse in red. Before use, shake the can well. Depending on your hair, take an appropriate amount of the 3-in-1 mousse and massage it into your locks. Make sure the mousse spreads evenly for the best effect. Style your hair as usual. The mousse does not need rinsing out.

The Perfecte hair routine for black coloured hair

Dreaming of jet-black hair? Black is a gorgeous but bold colour that stands out and pairs easily with accessories and clothes. But how do you create a long-lasting, shiny black colour? A few tips to keep in mind before dyeing your hair black or maintaining your black dyed hair:

What your hair type needs:

Coloured hair needs extra careful care. For example, it’s important not to wash coloured hair too often. Water contains minerals that can fade your hair colour. A special, nourishing shampoo for coloured hair helps keep your colour bright for longer. The following products help your black hair stay beautiful even longer. Finding a Perfecte colour shampoo can be tricky, but check the list below for our recommendations! Also, a serum or oil adds a beautiful shine and extra treatment, so your black locks don’t go dull but stay brilliantly glossy!

Essentials for your beauty bag:

The Perfecte hair routine:

Maintain a smooth black hair colour by protecting your hair well. Start with a shampoo for coloured hair; we recommend one with UV protection, like Schwarzkopf Color Freeze Shampoo. If the colour fades quickly, use the Maria Nila colour mask. First, wash with Schwarzkopf Color Freeze shampoo. Then apply the colour mask in your desired shade. Leave on for 3–10 minutes; longer = deeper colour. To keep a consistent black tone, nourish your longer strands well and maintain optimum moisture balance. This prevents the ends from becoming darker than the roots. Long hair dries out faster at the ends and absorbs dark pigments quicker. The Schwarzkopf Color Freeze Conditioner helps your hair retain moisture. Enjoy a stunning, even colour! Finally, a good hair oil or serum helps protect, soften and add shine!

The Perfecte hair routine for brown coloured hair

You dye your hair, but after a few washes the colour fades drastically. Brown hair soon looks orange or dull. If you recognise this problem when you dye your hair, what can you do? You don’t want to dye it more often; you want the colour to last longer! With the products below, your coloured hair stays beautiful, and you care for it properly.

What your hair type needs:

From light brown to dark brown, and from chestnut brown to caramel tones. Or maybe you prefer brown hair with highlights? Choose your favourite shade and enjoy it longer with these tips. A colour shampoo is always a good idea, especially after a transformation. Colour tends to fade a lot after the first time. But pigmented shampoos like No Orange Shampoo or No Red Shampoo work very well for a matte effect.

Essentials for your beauty bag:

Want to neutralise unwanted tones? Check out these neutralising shampoos:

Want to give your brown hair an extra boost? Check these out:

The Perfecte hair routine:

There are many different shades of brown hair. But for every brown tone, there is a matching shampoo and treatment. Is your colour still nice? Wash with, for example, the L'Oreal Vitamino Color Shampoo to protect the colour well. If you have a Matte hair colour and notice quick red or orange tones, don’t use a silver shampoo but rather the Fanola No Orange Shampoo or the Fanola No Red Shampoo. Warm brown colours also need proper care. Prefer a long-lasting caramel tone? Then we recommend a Color Mask Caramel, or if you are more into a dark cocoa tone, the colour mask by Maria Nila Perfect for your locks! Wash hair first with a shampoo. Then apply the colour mask in your desired shade. Leave on for 3–10 minutes. The longer the time, the deeper the colour.

The Perfecte hair routine for copper coloured hair

You’ve just coloured your hair and you’re super happy with the makeover. The coloured locks look perfect the first days. They shine and look healthy. But then it happens; the shine and intenSiity of the colour gradually fade until that initial happy feeling is gone. No worries, you’re not alone! We’ve created the Perfecte hair routine for you to end faded copper tones.

What your hair type needs:

Copper is a stunning colour, but when the colour fades it can become very bright. Unfortunately, perManent dyes are not so perManent and not permanent. Copper tones are tricky to keep vibrant, especially during spring and summer. Use products that protect your coloured locks from UV rays.

Essentials for your beauty bag:

Want to boost your copper hair colour? Check out these colour refreshers:

The Perfecte hair routine:

Avoid the sun and don’t wash your hair too often. This applies to all colours, but it’s especially important for copper tones to use a dry shampoo to delay washing. Start with a colour-protecting shampoo, such as Maria Nila Luminous Colour, which protects hair well against UV rays, then rinse thoroughly. For extra shine use the conditioner and a serum like BioSilk Therapy. Thanks to the UV filter and Vitamin E, your hair is protected from the sun and free radicals. Why is this good? So your hair keeps shining and fading is prevented to keep it vibrant and ultra healthy! If the colour has faded a lot, no problem! The Maria Nila Colour Refresh Bright Copper or Wella Color Fresh Mask help bring back a beautiful copper tone. Wash the hair first with Maria Nila Luminous Colour shampoo. Then apply your chosen colour mask. Leave on for 3–10 minutes. The longer the time, the deeper the colour result.

The Perfecte hair routine for Pastel coloured hair

A Pastel colour in your hair is incredibly beautiful and unique. Not everyone manages to get a Pastel shade. But once you have it, you naturally want it to last. To maintain Pastel shades well, we’ve selected the best products for you. Below you’ll find how to keep your colour beautiful!

What your hair type needs:

Pastel shades are already very soft and light. Few pigments are needed to get a Pastel tint. However, the baSis of your hair needs to be light. The lighter the hair, the better the colour stays. Washing your hair with a colour-protecting shampoo is therefore a must. Using a colour refresher regularly lets you enjoy your favourite Pastel shade every day!

Essentials for your beauty bag:

Want to achieve a beautiful Pastel colour? Check these suggestions:

The Perfecte hair routine:

Start for example with the Indola ActNow Color Shampoo. With Pastel shades, refreshing the colour might happen more often. Choose the colour you like, for example: Four Reasons Color Mask Rose Gold tomorrow for a rose tint, Maria Nila Colour Refresh Peach for a peachy blonde, Wella Color Fresh Mask Lilac for a light lilac, and Four Reasons Color Mask Pearl for a pearl colour. Get the colour masks for longer lasting results. Colour fades with every wash, so use a colour mask at least once a week. Let the masks work for about ten minutes; longer = more intense colour. Important! Hydrate your hair well so colour applies evenly during dyeing or refreshing. This ensures a beautiful even result. Hydrating products like Indola Hydrate Care Set restore your hair's natural moisture balance. This nourishing set helps your hair absorb colour better, giving a healthy, stunning shine.
