Everything you need to know about pre-poo (pre-wash)

Pre-poo: it sounds kind of gross, but it’s actually super good for you! The name is a combination of prepare and shampoo, so the “poo” stands for nothing other than shamPOO. ;) Pre-poo is also called pre-wash or pre-treatment. This (maybe strange) term comes from the Curly Girl Method. But don’t worry if you don’t have curly hair: pre-poo is suitable for every hair type! What is pre-poo?
Pre-poo is a combination of prepare and shampoo. In other words, pre-poo is a preparatory treatment before washing your hair. This is a treatment not many people know about and it’s quite new to us. Yet, many brands have already developed their own version of a pre-poo, and we are very excited about that!
Why would I wash my hair before washing it?
It might sound like a riddle, but we’ll explain! When washing your hair, your hair actually gets slightly damaged because the strands rub against each other. This causes the hair cuticles to easily lift, making your hair dry and brittle. With a pre-poo, you ensure that the cuticle layer of your hair gets an extra layer of protection. In addition, it gives your hair many benefits, including an extra hydration boost. We really recommend trying a pre-treatment once!
