Say farewell to poor hair habits
- 3 min reading time
We’re already a while into the new year, and for us, this is the year to get your hair in top condition! So we’re aiming for healthy, shiny, and beautiful hair. I hear you saying, ‘That sounds easy’, but it really doesn’t have to take much effort. It’s time to say goodbye to some ‘Bad Habits’!
TIP 1 | AVOID BRUSHING WET HAIR
When your hair is wet, it’s at its most vulnerable. Brushing it then is most likely to damage your hair. And we don’t want that! While you apply conditioner, gently work out any knots with your hands. Then wait until your hair is dry before brushing safely!

TIP 2 | DON’T SLEEP WITH WET HAIR
As we know, wet hair is extra vulnerable. Many people shower before bed and go to sleep with wet hair. You move a lot in your sleep, causing friction. This friction isn’t good for your hair and damages it even more! So don’t go to bed with wet hair—make sure your hair is dry before sleeping.
TIP 3 | DON’T USE A TERRY CLOTH TOWEL
A terry cloth towel is fine for drying your body, but did you know you’re better off not using it on your hair? Terry cloth is rough and causes friction, which can damage your hair. Instead, use a microfiber towel that won’t dry out or damage your hair!
TIP 4 | PROTECT AGAINST THE SUN
We all know (hopefully) it’s important to protect your skin from UV rays. But did you know you should protect your hair from the sun too? Your hair can get damaged and dry from sun exposure. So don’t go into the sun without protecting your hair against UV rays.

TIP 5 | USE HEAT PROTECTION
Let’s continue with heat: besides the sun, various heat sources can damage your hair. We all love styling tools—at least, most of us do. But your straightener, hairdryer, and curling iron are not your hair’s best friends. So don’t forget to use heat protection.

TIP 6 | BACKCOMBING
WE LOVE VOLUME. But not if it comes at the cost of your hair! So what we want is lots of volume without damaging your hair. Sounds Perfect right? Backcombing isn’t really an option here. Combing your hair backwards can cause damage or even breakage. We’d rather recommend using a volume powder or Texture spray. With a few products (which also offer much more care), you get that Volume Boost! Besides volume, you also add texture and grip, giving your roots much more lift.

TIP 7 | CARE, CARE, AND EVEN MORE CARE
We can’t say it enough: keep caring for your hair! Whether your hair is healthy or not, it’s always important to give it some extra love sometimes. Good care is the key to healthy, radiant hair. Treat your hair occasionally with a nourishing mask and don’t forget to regularly add conditioner to your Haircare routine.
