Saving money – that sounds like music to the ears these days. It can sometimes be tricky to figure out where to best invest and where to save. In this blog, we give you 9 tips on how you can save money with your beauty routine!

Tip 1 - Shower shorter

Showering shorter, it’s a classic! We love a nice long shower, but did you know you are literally flushing money down the drain? So, you can save quite a bit here. An average shower uses 2.1 litres of water per minute. That means a 20-minute shower costs quite a bit. A new goal: shower about 5 minutes. Not only cheaper, but also better for the environment. Oh, and don’t forget to turn off or lower the tap while soaping up!

Tip 2 - Shower less hot

Even better: from now on, shower half the time with cold water. Not only energy-saving, but also good for your immune system! And did you know that cold showers are the natural conditioner? They close your hair cuticles, resulting in stronger and shinier hair. Win-win, but brrrr......

Tip 3 - Re-use your water!

Okay, with this step you are really environmentally conscious. Waiting for the shower to warm up? All that water goes to waste down the drain. Catch it in, for example, a watering can, and use it to water your plants.

Tip 4 - Your towels can last longer

You just had a refreshing shower and you’re nice and clean again. The towel you dry yourself with is also clean and can easily be used again. So hang your towel on the radiator after drying; this way you’ll have a dry towel again the next day! You’ll notice you’ll do fewer loads of laundry. Because towels often fill the drum of your washing machine. This saves you time on laundry and also saves on detergent.

Tip 5 - Don’t forget to turn off the light

Between all the short showers and (now fewer? ;)) loads of laundry, there’s a lot of rush nowadays. And in that rush, we sometimes forget to turn off the light. The bathroom light is often connected to a ventilation system. If you leave the light on, the ventilation keeps running. What a waste! So whoever showers last in the morning, turn off the light and the radiator. This already saves a lot of money!

Tip 6 - What do you still have lying around?

Take a good look in your bathroom cabinet. You’ll be surprised what you might find. We are increasingly used to stuffing our bathroom cabinets fuller and fuller, and we don’t use the products at the back at all. Also, care products are a popular birthday gift, nicely packaged in a box or foil. Is this still proudly displayed in the corner of the bathroom? Unwrap them, time to use them! Also a top tip to give care products as gifts, everyone uses hair, skin care and/or make-up!

Tip 7 - Invest in your most important items

Are you really into contouring or creating beautiful eyeshadow looks? Then you probably go through a lot of brushes. Saving tip: invest in high-quality make-up brushes. They last longer, which prevents you from having to buy new ones often. This of course also applies to other things, whatever you find important!

Tip 8 - Do research before you buy something

Check the important features of a product carefully beforehand. Does it suit you well? Focus, for example, on your skin or hair type. This prevents dissatisfaction with the product, which might lead to you not using it anymore. At Haarspullen.nl we try to provide you with extensive product information. But if you still have questions, feel free to contact our experts; they are happy to help you!

Tip 9 - Keep an eye on promotions and discounts
