Do you already have plans for Valentine’s Day? In this blog, we have listed the top 5 most popular and original dates! Curious about even more date ideas? Then check the end of this blog and download a free Valentine’s checklist! Are you ready?
Date idea #1: Random adventure
Fancy an active and spontaneous date? Go out together by car and see where you end up! Take a basket with treats and just drive! Take a nice walk, enjoy a pleasant terrace, or visit a beautiful building. Don’t have a car? No problem! You can also continue this fun date by train. What do you need? A dice! And now you’re probably thinking: a dice? What do I need this for? The number you roll determines your track. Roll number 3? Then walk to platform 3, get on the train, and see where you land!
This is not only a fun Valentine’s date with your lover, but also perfect for a day out with your mother, sister, or best friend. Precisely because nothing is fixed, there is room for real conversations and unexpectedly fun moments.
Date idea #2: Relive a first time together
This does not have to be your first date. Choose a moment that was special to you. The first time shopping together. A day out. A concert. A mother-daughter day. Or simply the first time you really got to know each other. Relive the moment, recall memories, and make new ones. Small, but very valuable.
Date idea #3: Theme night at home
This date is one of our favourites! A theme evening is always a good idea. Choose a vibe you like and carry it through completely — from outfit to food and music.
Fun themes:
- Italian evening - make your own pizza dough together and enjoy Aperol or Limoncello Spritz.
- Bake-off date - Bake something each and taste each other’s creation.
- Game night - choose different games and find out who is the best!
- Colour themed night - each makes a snack board in a colour theme beforehand and dresses in that colour as well.
- Throwback night - look back at old photos, videos, and memories.
Perfect for couples, but just as fun with girlfriends. The great thing about a theme evening is that it immediately feels different from a standard evening on the couch. And a bonus: it’s also perfect for making memories together — and possibly capturing them.
Date idea #4: Make a bucket list together
Do you have many fun plans together? Then take your favourite drink from the cupboard. Spend a cosy evening chatting to discuss all your plans, goals, and outings together. Do you want to go on a road trip together? Take a dance class? Or jump out of a plane? Discuss it all and make a joint bucket list book. And now you always have a nice idea for a date! :-)
Date idea #5: Sip & Paint date night
Sip & Paint date night
Fancy a cosy evening at home, but want something a little different than watching a film? Then a Sip & Paint date is perfect! Put on some nice music, pour a tasty glass of wine (or mocktail), and get out paint, brushes, and a canvas. You really don’t have to be a Picasso, that’s what makes it so fun. Agree on what you will paint or surprise each other with your own creation. At the end of the evening, you will not only have a nice memory but also a work of art to keep (or secretly compare).
Date idea #6: Self-care date
Valentine’s Day is also a perfect moment to consciously take time for self-care. Plan a self-care date where relaxation is central. Think of face masks, doing nails, hair care, or just lounging comfortably in cosy clothes.
Combine this with tea, mocktails, or a good glass of wine and take the time to catch up. This is a lovely date with girlfriends, but also a beautiful moment to really pause and relax together with your mother or sister. Sometimes the best date is simply resting together.
Date idea #7: Cozy movie night
Sometimes you just want an evening at home, but with that special Valentine’s feeling. Make your movie night a truly cosy experience. Lay blankets and cushions on the floor, light candles, and make snacks that match the film you are watching. Choose a genre together or let each person pick a film blindly to keep it playful.
This evening is not about the film itself, but about relaxing together and enjoying the moment.
