Want your curls to stay perfectly styled all day? But they always fall out before your first selfie? So frustrating. You put time into your curling iron look and a few hours later the bounce is gone. Luckily, it can be different. With the right products from the Schwarzkopf OSIS+ line, you give your styled curls extra grip, volume, and long-lasting hold – without your hair feeling stiff. This way your look stays beautiful from early morning till late at night.
Why do your curls fall out so quickly?
You probably know it: you spend half an hour with your curling iron, spray some hairspray, and think yes, this will hold. Two hours later? Limp strands. Gone volume. Gone bounce.
Styled curls simply need extra support. Heat temporarily makes your hair flexible, but without the right prep and fixation, that shape falls just as quickly. Especially if you have fine hair, naturally straight hair, or if it’s humid outside.
The solution? Building layers in your stylingThink of: preparation, shaping, fixing, and protecting. With the right products from the Schwarzkopf OSIS+ line ensures your curls not only look beautiful but also stay beautiful.
Step 1: The perfect base for long-lasting curls
A good curl starts before you turn on the curling iron. So always work on dry hair and use a product that gives grip.
Want your curls to stay airy and full? This light volume Cream gives body without weighing your hair down. Perfect if you have fine or lifeless hair that falls flat quickly.
Why nice?
Light hold
More volume
Natural feel
Apply a small amount to towel-dried hair and blow-dry it into shape before curling. This creates a base structure.
Step 2: Extra grip before curling
Want your curls to really stay put? Then you need grip.
This dry texture Spray gives grip and a light matte finish. Perfect for beach waves that don’t fall out.
Spray lightly over your hair after curling and loosen the curls with your fingers. This creates an effortless vibe that lasts all day.
Which curling iron and technique create curls that last longer?
You can use the best hairspray… but if your curling iron or technique isn’t right, your curls will still fall out. The foundation really starts with the right tools and approach.
Choose the right diameter
Want your curls to stay beautiful for a long time? Then go for a smaller diameter than you actually want. Large curls fall out faster, especially with long or heavy hair. Want loose waves? Then curl a bit tighter – they will relax naturally.
Watch the temperature
Use enough heat, but don’t overdo it.
Fine hair: 160–180°C
Normal hair: 180–200°C
Thick hair: max. 210°C
Too low temperature? Then the curl doesn’t “take” well. Too high? Then you damage your hair and it loses its resilience.
Work in smaller strands
The bigger the section, the less definition. Take smaller sections and make sure the heat is well distributed. This takes a bit more time, but your result stays beautiful much longer.
Let your curl cool down (super important!)
This is the step that is often skipped. Curl a strand, catch it in your hand and let it cool down in the curled shape. Only when your whole hair is cooled, go through it with your fingers or brush. This way you optimally set the shape.
Curl away from your face
For a modern, airy look, curl the front strands away from your face. Alternate the direction of the rest of your hair for extra volume and a natural effect.
Bonus tip: curl on day 2
Clean, freshly washed hair is often too soft. Curls hold better on hair that isn’t freshly washed. Optionally use a texture Spray for extra grip before you start.
With the right curling iron, the right temperature, and smart technique, you make the difference between curls that fall out after two hours… and curls that keep their bounce all day long.
Bonus tip: Let your curls cool down!
Curl a strand, roll it up in your hand and let it cool down a bit before you release it. This helps to set the shape. Only brush your hair out once everything is completely cooled.
