Blush adds colour to your cheeks, giving your face a healthy glow. Perfect if your face looks a bit tired or if you naturally have a pale complexion. Blush looks very natural—after all, everyone gets a natural flush on their cheeks now and then. Blush also helps to shape your face by adding depth, making it appear slimmer. Plus, a flush on your cheeks can boost your eye colour and make it stand out even more.
Which blush colour suits me?
There are many blush colours, but which one suits your skin tone best? Curious? Below you’ll find exactly which shade works for you:
Blush for a fair complexion – With fair skin, it’s best to choose a light blush with soft pigmentation so it isn’t too overwhelming. Decide if you prefer a cool or warm undertone:
- Cool undertone – Light pink works best
- Warm undertone – Peach is your go-to
Blush for medium skin tones – You’re lucky with medium skin; almost any shade suits you! The best choices are peach or coral blushes, which beautifully highlight your cheekbones.
Blush for dark skin – For dark skin, choose darker blushes with strong pigmentation. Red blush or fuchSia pink shades are perfect for you. Blush with a warm undertone will also look stunning.
Where do I apply blush?
Apply blush on the tops of the apples of your cheeks to accentuate your cheekbones. Smile gently in the mirror to see the apples of your cheeks pop up. From there, blend towards your ear for the Perfect blush line.
How do I apply my blush?
For best results, use a blush brush. The Ilu Angled Blush Kabuki is Perfect for applying your blush. The brush is angled and made with high-quality hairs, making it easy to apply your blush. For a Cream blush, use your clean fingers to gently tap the product into your skin. Avoid rubbing; tapping blends the blush beautifully.
Build your blush gradually by applying small amounts multiple times. This way, you won’t apply too much. (And make sure you apply your blush in good light – otherwise, you might overdo it). And don’t forget to blend well!
What’s the difference between powder and Cream blush?
There are various blush types, but what’s the difference between powder and Cream blush?
Powder: powder blush is generally more subtle than Cream blush, so it’s less covering. The upside is that powder blush needs less blending. Thanks to its powdery texture, it’s easy to build up.
Cream: Cream blush is stronger than powder blush, making it perfect for going out. You can apply it very precisely, but blending well is essential to avoid streaks.
Why use a setting Spray?
Using setting Spray keeps your makeup in place all day, including your blush. This prevents fading or smudging. It’s a must for powder products like bronzer, highlighter, and blush! Plus, setting Spray gives your face a beautiful Glow all day long.
