What is an eyebrow pencil?
An eyebrow pencil gives your own hairs a different (often darker) tint and shape. You can fill in your brows with it, shape them, and make them fuller. An eyebrow pencil is also a Perfect go-to make-up product. Most pencils are not just the pencil itself but sometimes come with a brush and a sharpener. That way, you can shape your eyebrows anywhere. An eyebrow pencil is in the same category as lip liners – the colours are often not super intense but give a very beautiful and natural effect.
How do I use an eyebrow pencil?
Your eyebrows are an important part of your face. They usually shape your whole facial expression. But doing your eyebrows is often one of the trickiest parts of your make-up routine. To make it easier for you, we've described exactly how to use an eyebrow pencil:
- Make sure to remove any old eyebrow make-up before applying for the best result.
- Brush your eyebrows downward with an eyebrow brush.
- Draw the top line of your eyebrows.
- Now brush all your eyebrow hairs upward again.
- Draw in the remaining eyebrow hairs with the pencil. Try to draw lines that naturally connect with the top line you just made.
- Brush your eyebrow hairs calmly through again to keep them neat.
- You can now fill in the eyebrow between the two lines.
- Finally, use a clear or tinted eyebrow gel so your brows stay fleeky all day long!
One more tip from us! To find the end point of your eyebrow, hold your eyebrow pencil along your nostril and the outer corner of your eye to mark the brow's end.
Which eyebrow pencil colour suits me best?
There are so many different eyebrow pencil colours. They come in light and dark shades, but also in bordeaux and grey. When choosing an eyebrow pencil, try to pick a colour that closely matches your hair colour. Often, your eyebrows are a bit lighter than your hair but sometimes we want them a little darker. If you have very blonde eyebrows, it’s best to pick a dark blonde shade and apply it lightly for the most natural result. Grey works well for most too. That might not seem logical since most girls don’t have grey hair, but grey often adapts to your skin and eyebrow hairs. This makes it look super natural, even without grey hair!
