What types of hair care are there?
At Haarspullen.nl there are numerous types of hair care available. These types consist of:
Shampoo : How, with what and how often you wash your hair is essential for healthy hair condition. A gentle cleansing to remove excess oil, product residue and dirt from the scalp is a must. In addition, it is important to choose a shampoo that meets the needs of your hair.
Do you often have dry hair? Then it is wise to use a shampoo that is extra moisturizing. If you have colored hair, it is best to use a shampoo that is specially developed for colored hair. Do you have curls? That is a whole different story and you should really avoid certain ingredients.

Sulfates, parabens, silicones, mineral oils and certain alcohols are the main culprits. However, this does not mean that these ingredients should not be on the ingredients list at all, but at least in small quantities.
Conditioner: ' To use conditioner or not' is still a frequently discussed topic. We (and most hairdressers) advise to absolutely use conditioner. Conditioner does not have to weigh down your hair and your hair does not become greasy if you apply it to the length of your hair.
Conditioner is step 2 of the hair care routine. Conditioner (as you may already know) is the indispensable follow-up to shampoo. Shampoo ensures that your hair cuticles are open. How do I care for my hair?

- Extra care: Use a nourishing mask or a nourishing hair oil once or twice a week

How do I keep my hair healthy?
Enough about shampoos and hair masks! There are many more tips&tricks for taking care of your hair. We have listed a number of general tips about hair care below:
- Don't wash your hair too often (2 to 3 times a week)
- Wash your hair with lukewarm water
- Comb your hair when it is dry instead of wet
- Drink plenty of water
- Tie your hair up before going to sleep
- Sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase (especially if you have curly hair)

- Have your dead ends trimmed regularly

What natural hair care is there?

Which ingredients should I avoid as much as possible?
There are a number of ingredients that we recommend avoiding as much as possible. This does not mean that they should never appear on the ingredients list. Here is our standard list of ingredients that we recommend avoiding:
- Sulfates (SLES/SLS) - This ingredient is often found in foaming products. Sulfates create a foaming effect. But at the same time, the hair is cleaned so intensively that all natural, essential oils are also removed. This can result in dry/damaged hair.
- Silicones (-cone -xane- or -conol) - Silicones are added to give the hair a shiny layer. Initially, your hair will actually shine because of the silicones. But after a while, this layer builds up, causing the hair to no longer absorb care and your hair becomes dull.
- Mineral oil - The word "oil" can be misleading. Oil is often good for your hair. But mineral oil causes the natural oil of the hair to disappear and forms a layer around your hair. This layer ensures that the hair can no longer ventilate.
- Parabens - There is still a lot of fuss about parabens. But we do recommend avoiding parabens as much as possible. Parabens can cause an allergic reaction. There are also studies that link parabens to breast cancer. But there is no real proof yet.
- Alcohol - not all alcohols are bad for your hair. However, some alcohols dry out your hair and are best avoided:
