L’Oréal Majirel gives your hair a rich, perManent colour, from soft brown to cool blonde. Want to cover grey roots, refresh your regrowth or try a new shade? Find the colour and oxidant that suit your hair and colour wishes within L’Oréal Majirel.

What is L’Oréal Majirel hair colour?

L’Oréal Majirel hair colour is a professional, perManent cream colour that changes your hair colour and covers grey hair. The collection is part of L’Oréal Professionnel. You pick the version that fits your desire: a deep natural colour, extra cool reflections or a lighter blonde shade.

With a perManent colour, the pigments develop inside the hair. You mix the colour cream with an oxidant: a developer with hydrogen peroxide that activates the colouring process. The chosen shade determines the colour direction, while the oxidant affects the lightening effect.

Want a long-lasting colour that stays vibrant? Majirel Hair Colour delivers a rich colour result and leaves your hair feeling cared for. PerManent hair colour grows out; your next treatment will need attention to the new roots. For a temporary colour boost, you’ll also find washable options in the other hair colours range.

Each line within L’Oréal Majirel has its own application. Covering grey roots requires a permanent colour, while lighter blonde tones call for a lightening option. Match the colour, oxidant, and mixing ratio to your chosen line and desired result.

How do I choose the right L’Oréal Majirel colour?

You choose the right L’Oréal Majirel colour by comparing your current hair colour, desired brightness, undertone and amount of grey. Check your roots first, then your lengths, as they often differ in colour and need different treatments.

The numbers on the tube keep the Majirel shades clear. The first number shows how light or dark the colour is. For example, 4 means brown and 6 means dark blonde. The numbers after the dot describe the tone: for example .1 for ash and .3 for gold. L’Oréal Majirel 6.1 is dark ash blonde: a dark blonde colour with a cool shade.

  • Grey hair: choose a covering colour with the right amount of natural colour.

  • Hair with unwanted warmth: pick a cool tone to neutralise the warm undertone.

  • Natural hair that should be lighter: opt for a lightening colour matching your current shade.

Does your brown tend to get warmer than you want? Majirel Cool Cover Hair Colour offers extra cool reflections and deep coverage. For a fresh blonde with strong lightening, try Majirel High Lift Hair Colour; this variant does not cover grey hair.

Compare the Majirel shades with your current hair colour and decide if you want a warm, cool or neutral look. The final result also depends on your natural hair colour and past colouring.

Which oxidant do I need?

For L’Oréal Majirel, use a matching professional oxidant with a strength that suits your colour line and desired lightening. For the regular colour, 3.75% lifts up to one and a half shades, 6% up to two shades and 9% up to three shades. First decide which combination achieves your colour goal.

The Oxydant Developer Cream activates the colour cream and is added separately. With standard L’Oréal Majirel hair colour, the mixing ratio is 1:1.5: one part colour cream to one and a half parts oxidant. Measure both amounts carefully. For 60 ml colour cream use 90 ml oxidant; for 50 ml use 75 ml.

High Lift follows a different recipe: one part colour cream to two parts oxidant, with 9% or 12%. The processing time is 50 minutes, compared to 35 minutes for regular Majirel hair colour. Always read the instructions before use and follow the recommended mixing ratio and processing time.

Buy L’Oréal Majirel hair colour at haarspullen.nl

At haarspullen.nl you’ll find L’Oréal Majirel hair colour in various colour lines and shades. Want to reorder your trusted shade? Check both the line name and colour number on your tube. The same colour code in a different line can give a different result.

Note which shades, mixing ratio and oxidant strength you use. This helps you find the right combination for your next order. Also check how much colour cream the tube contains so you can measure the right amount of oxidant.

After a blonde treatment, choose blonde hair care that suits your lengths. If they feel dry, give them nourishing care. Use a product with purple pigments to neutralise yellow tones; for a deliberately warm blonde, choose care without colour pigments.

Unsure which colour or oxidant suits your hair? Our Team is happy to help. Feel free to contact us for advice on the right shade and matching developer from the L’Oréal Majirel collection.

Frequently Asked Questions about L’Oréal Majirel

Want to know more about L’Oréal Majirel before you get started? Below you'll find answers to frequently asked questions, with practical tips to help you with your next colour treatment.

How long should the formula be left on?

L’Oréal Majirel hair dye should be left on for 35 minutes for the regular colouring; for High Lift, the processing time is 50 minutes. The time starts once you’ve finished applying to the roots. Use a timer to make sure you stick to the recommended processing time accurately. Read the instructions for your variant before colouring and rinse out the dye after the indicated time.

Does L’Oréal Majirel cover grey hair?

Yes, L’Oréal Majirel hair dye covers grey hair, provided you use the right shade, oxidant, and mixing ratio. For lots of grey hair, the colour formula often calls for a combination of your desired tone and a matching base shade. This ensures enough coverage. The amount of base colour needed varies per colour range and chosen shade. The formula matters too: the regular colour and Cool Cover offer grey coverage, while High Lift does not cover grey hair.

Can you mix different colours of L’Oréal Majirel?

Yes, you can mix different colours of L’Oréal Majirel if the instructions for the chosen shades allow it. By combining suitable Majirel tones, you can adjust the warmth or depth of your colour. Keep the total amount of colour cream in mind when calculating the oxidant. Only mix different colour ranges if the manufacturer recommends that combination, and make sure to note your formula for your next colour treatment.
