How can I take care of my lips?
Your lips go through a lot, especially in winter. Many factors can damage your lips. Think of the weather: wind and sun, but also spicy food or medication can dry out your lips. Your lips are more vulnerable than the rest of your skin. This is because your lips lack certain functions that your skin has, for example, your lips don’t have glands that secrete sweat. Below we have listed the most important do's and don'ts for lip care. This way you know exactly what you can do to take good care of your lips!
Do's:
- Scrub - It’s important to regularly scrub your lips (2/3 times a week). Scrubbing removes dead skin cells and flakes from your lips, making them feel wonderfully soft again. Tip: you can simply scrub your lips with a damp toothbrush.
- Hydrate - Go for nourishing lip products. Regularly apply lip balm, petroleum jelly, or use natural oils that add moisture. For example coconut oil and honey!
- Protect your lips from the sun - Just like the sun damages your skin, it also damages your lips. Your lips can burn just as easily. So make sure to use SPF on your lips! One of our faves: Attitude Lip Balm SPF 15.
- Drink enough water - So your body has enough moisture to nourish your lips.

How can I make my lips look fuller?
We all long for fuller lips. Maybe you have already tried a number of trends, do you know the Kylie Jenner Lip challenge, for example? Lip fillers or cosmetic procedures are not the only solution for fuller lips, there are a number of tricks that make your lips look fuller. For example, you can 'massage' your lips and hydrate well so they look fuller and more colored. You can also achieve a good result with makeup! For example, we sell various lip liners. With a lip liner, you can give more definition to your lips and draw the line a little over the 'border'. This makes it look like your lips have more surface area.
How do I prevent dry lips?
The colder days, but also the warm summer days affect the condition of your lips. You can easily conceal this with lip makeup, but it is also important that you care for your lips properly. This way you prevent dry and chapped lips. Because oh... how terrible that is! We have listed a number of solutions against dry lips for you:

Which lipstick color suits me best?
When it comes to makeup, there are no rules. You should of course just wear the color you like! Moreover, the fun thing about makeup is that you can endlessly experiment with different colors. Are you curious about which color suits the color of your eyes, skin, hair and the rest of your makeup best? We totally understand that and it’s a daily struggle for many people. Fortunately, we have carefully researched it for you!
Do you like a natural look and want your lip makeup to be subtle? Then it’s best to choose a lip color that is closest to your own lip color. This way you create a natural beautiful definition to your lips. For example, you can also just outline your lips with a neutral lipliner in a nude color or only use a transparent lipgloss.
It is very difficult to determine which color suits whom. The main difference is between warm tones and cool tones. You should first determine for yourself which colors suit you best in terms of clothing, hair color and eyeshadow. Are those cooler tones or rather warmer tones? To help you a little in finding the right color, we have put together a small overview below:
- Pale skin, possibly freckles, light eyes, blonde, reddish or light brown hair: Warm, autumnal shades.
- Pale sun-sensitive skin, peach-colored skin, brown/green eyes, brown/red hair: dark red, coral, apricot, orange, peach and brownish red.
- An olive brown, southern skin or snow-white alabaster skin tone. Eye color is random, hair usually dark: Cool blue and purple tones, deep red, pink and soft pink lipstick, such as rosewood, raspberry or pearly.

How do I make my lipstick last as long as possible?
Once you have purchased a beautiful lipstick and applied it to your lips, of course you want to enjoy it for as long as possible. We give you some tips and tricks so your lipstick lasts as long as possible!
- Good care makes a big difference! Scrubbing and moisturizing is an absolute must. Caring for your lips contributes to how long your lipstick lasts.
- Use a lipliner. The lipliner on the edge (or over) ensures your lipstick stays in place and fades less quickly + it is a good base under your lipstick. It works like a kind of primer.
- Apply a little foundation on your lips before applying the colored lip product. This works as a base (primer) for your lipstick.
- By using a lip primer, your lipstick lasts longer and your lips stay hydrated throughout the day. A nice lip primer is the MAC Prep + Prime Lip Base.
- Of course, you have to be careful what and how you eat & drink. For example, drink with a straw and make sure you don’t order a hamburger, but something that doesn’t affect your lipstick.
And without transferring……
- If after applying your make-up you gently press a tissue or any other random object a few times on your lips, you have already 'transferred' the top layer of your lipstick.
- After applying your make-up, you can apply a transparent powder over your lipstick. Just like your foundation, this keeps your lipstick beautifully in place!
- Spray a little hairspray or setting Spray over your lips (with your mouth as closed as possible, of course).
