How important is facial care?
Very important! Many people underestimate how important facial care really is. Your skin is exposed every day to harmful external influences, such as cold, heat, UV radiation, dirt, makeup residue, and much more. That’s why it’s very important to care for and protect your skin well. This also reduces the chance of impurities and helps maintain healthy skin.

Which skincare products suit my skin type?
Nowadays, so many different types of skincare are sold, which can make it difficult to choose. The first important step is to look at what skin type you have. This is often divided into 3 types: dry, oily, or combination skin. But how do you recognize this?
With dry skin, the skin often feels tight after washing and sometimes has dull spots with flakes. With oily skin, pores are usually larger and the skin shines more due to the overproduction of sebum. A combination skin is recognizable by drier cheeks and an oily T-zone.
Now that you have a better idea of what skin type you have, below you can find which skincare is best suited for each skin type:
Dry skin: we recommend using a thick cream that hydrates well. As a cleanser, it’s best to choose one with a milk or oil substance. Also, for dry skin, it’s definitely not wrong to add extra steps to your skincare routine. Think of a nourishing serum or a moisturizing mask. The CeraVe Hydraterende Gezichtscrème SPF50is a perfect product for dry skin, and also 100% fragrance-free.
Oily skin: Make sure you use products with a light texture to cleanse the skin, like the Clinique Clarifying Lotion. Avoid strong or drying products. This will actually cause your skin to produce even more sebum, making your skin even oilier. You can also choose a cream that specifically works for excess sebum.
Combination skin: for combination skin, it’s best to go for a moisturizing cream. Do you still find your T-zone too shiny? Then you can use a cream with a light texture on oily areas, and a thick cream on dry areas. So it can happen that you use two different products to hydrate your face.
How often should I use skincare products?
First of all, we recommend cleansing your skin at least 2x a day, in the morning and evening. Do this with a cleansing product, you can add a tonic. You apply a tonic after cleansing your face and it always removes any remaining impurities and cleansing products.
In a 'basic' skin routine, you always use a (day and night) cream after cleansing (and the tonic) to nourish and hydrate the skin. With cleansing, tonic & cream twice a day using products that suit your skin type, you are already well on your way to healthy skin! By keeping up with your skincare, you reduce the chance of impurities, and your skin looks beautiful and radiant.
After that, it's up to you what you find comfortable. Do you still use an eye cream, serum, or sunscreen? Do what feels good to you but remember, cleansing your skin 2x a day is key! ;)

Did you know that sunscreen is the #1 anti-age cream? The sun is actually the biggest cause of skin aging. You keep your beautiful, young skin if you protect it well against the sun, for this you use products with SPF. SPF is necessary to protect your skin from the sun.
