It might seem extreme to use specially developed baby detergents, but here’s why it matters :)
Your skin absorbs substances, and harmful ingredients in products can damage your skin’s natural protective layer, especially for babies. Baby skin isn’t fully developed; it’s much thinner and absorbs more through the skin, entering the body. If a product, including detergent, contains carcinogenic or hormone-disrupting substances, that’s something to avoid.

During a baby’s first year, their skin is still developing. The three skin layers aren’t fully formed, and the cells aren’t tightly bound yet, making baby skin more permeable and extremely sensitive. The sebaceous glands aren’t fully functional, so baby skin lacks a protective lipid film. That’s why your baby smells so wonderfully! Baby skin has a neutral pH because it hasn’t yet developed an acidic barrier that limits germs. This acid mantle acts as a protective film (1).

It takes about a year for baby skin to fully develop and protect itself from irritants. Baby skin loses moisture faster and renews its barrier slower compared to adults. That’s why it’s essential to use fully safe and gentle care products, including laundry detergents. Using 100% safe products is highly recommended.

For stubborn stains on baby clothes, pour some natural baby detergent directly on the stain and rub it in. Let it soak before washing. Always read the clothing labels to avoid damaging baby clothes. Keep detergent out of reach of children and babies.
