If the BIBS pacifier is in good condition and used often, it’s important to clean it regularly. Before use, always boil the Studio Collection Jasmine pacifiers. Boil some water, in a pan or kettle, then pour the boiled water into a pan or bowl—whichever you prefer. Place the natural rubber nipple of BIBS in the water and leave it for a MAXIMUM of five minutes. Then let it cool, dry, and it’s ready to use! Be careful not to give the hot pacifier to your baby, as this could cause burns and you definitely want to avoid that.
For daily cleaning or sterilising, simply pour boiled water over the pacifier. So don’t boil it with the pacifier inside! Boiling the pacifier is NOT required.
Tip - Is your little boy or girl older than three months? Then you can also place the Pin & Block Sky Blue Mix pacifiers in a sieve or strainer and pour boiling water over them. This method is quicker and also prevents water from collecting inside the pacifier.
Attention! Parents often boil BIBS pacifiers for five minutes following advice from the National Health Council, but this results in damaged BIBS pacifiers. BIBS pacifiers are made from natural rubber and are not suitable for boiling; the high heat damages the nipple. The bacteria are destroyed by the Manier mentioned above, and the Pin & Block Sky Blue pacifiers remain undamaged.
UV or steam sterilizers also damage the natural rubber. Avoid these.
