Everything you need to know about KASHŌKI Curved Nail File Grid 100/180 - not online

Want to shape your nails neatly without splitting or fraying? The KASHŌKI Curved Nail File Grid 100/180 is a double-sided file with a clever curved shape that precisely follows your nail's arch. Perfect for caring for both gel and natural nails, each side serves a different purpose. With this file, you have everything you need for a tidy Manicure at home.

What are the main features of the KASHŌKI Curved Nail File Grid 100/180?

The file stands out with its crescent shape and two different sides. In the KASHŌKI range, it is one of the most versatile nail files you can use.

    • Curved shape effortlessly follows the nail arch
    • Two sides: one for gel/acrylic, one for natural nails
    • Flexible core distributes pressure evenly
    • Abrasive layer stays sharp with regular use
    • Ergonomic shape fits comfortably in your hand
    • Requires less wrist movement than a straight file
    • Suitable for both home and salon use

How do I use the curved nail file?

    1. Make sure your nails are dry before you start. Wet nails bend more easily, which can cause splitting.
    2. Start with the 100-grit side to shorten and shape gel or acrylic nails.
    3. File always in one direction, from the side towards the centre. Filing back and forth damages the nail edge.
    4. Use the 180-grit side for your natural nails. This side is softer and ideal for preparing nails for polish or other treatments.
    5. Follow the curved edge along the sides and arch of your nail for an even result.

Want to get even more from your Manicure? The Curved Nail File Duo Set Grid 100/180+180/240 gives you an extra file with a finer 240 grit side, handy if you also want to buff afterwards or if your nails are a bit more sensitive.

Why does this file work so well on both gel and natural nails?

The secret lies in the two grit sizes. The 100 side is coarser and quickly removes gel or acrylic without needing hard pressure. The 180 side is finer and gentler on the nail plate, allowing you to treat both artificial and natural nails in one go.

The flexible core lets the file bend slightly as you file. It may sound minor, but you’ll notice immediately: the pressure spreads more evenly and you have better control. This makes a 100/180 nail file ideal even if you have less experience.

The abrasive layer doesn’t wear out quickly, even with regular use. A great choice if you're looking for the best nail file for gel nails that also works on your own nails.

Is the 100 side too coarse for my nails?

The 100 side is meant for gel, acrylic or polygel, not for direct use on natural nails. So only use this side if you want to shorten or shape a product layer.

For natural nails, use the 180 side. It’s soft enough for most nails. If you have extremely thin or fragile nails, even 180 might feel a bit harsh. In that case, consider a finer file or a glass file.

Does the file also work on natural nails without gel or polish?

Yes. The 180 side is suitable for shaping and prepping natural nails even without any product. You can use it to shorten, smooth the edge evenly, and prepare the nail for polish.

Keep in mind that 180 is a working grit, not a polishing grit. Your nails will look neater but not shiny. Want to polish as well? Use a finer file or buffer afterwards.

How long does the file last?

That depends on how often you use it and on what products. With frequent use on gel or acrylic, the 100 side wears out faster than the 180 side. If you notice the file grabbing less or filing unevenly, it’s time for a new one.

The file isn’t meant to be cleaned wet. Dry tapping or gently cleaning with a dry brush works better. For hygiene when used on multiple people, it’s wise to replace the file regularly.

Curved file or straight file: which suits you?

A straight file works well for flat nails or if you’re used to a set technique. But if you find you need many small wrist movements to reach the sides and arch of your nail properly, a curved file is much easier to use.

The crescent shape of this file naturally follows the nail’s arch, so you twist less and have more control. That makes it great for both beginners and those who regularly care for their nails.

Compared to a generic file from the drugstore? Those may be cheaper individually, but their abrasive layer wears out faster and can become uneven. Want something more durable and profesSisional, but not a high-end glass file? This file is a great fit. If you have extremely sensitive nails that split easily, a glass or crystal file is a better choice. Also check out the rest of the Make-up Accessories for additional care tools.
