The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA is a 10% lactic acid exfoliator. It is a facial peel that targets uneven skin tone, uneven skin texture, and fine lines. It is supported with purified Tasmanian pepperberry extract, which has been shown to reduce irritation and sensitivity that can come with using acids. This water-based serum from The Ordinary is ideal for dry skin types. The pH of this formula is approximately 3.8. Lactic acid has a pKa of 3.8 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider when formulating with acids. pKa implies the availability of acids. When pKa is close to pH, there is an ideal balance of salt and acid, maximizing the effectiveness of the acid and reducing irritation. Lactic acid should not be used on sensitive or fragile skin.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA has the following characteristics:
Step 1 : Use the serum daily, preferably in the evening. The formula can be diluted with other products to reduce its strength.
Step 2 : Avoid contact with eyes
Step 3 : Apply a small amount to the skin.
