The two different percentages refer to the volume of hydrogen peroxide in hair dye products and have different effects on your hair. Here is the difference between the two:

1.9%-6VOL

• Low concentration of hydrogen peroxide
• Mild oxidant
• Used to tone or lighten your hair color by one or two shades, without much change to your natural hair color level.
• Suitable for minimal change, such as neutralizing unwanted tones or creating subtle shades.

4%-13VOL

• Higher concentration of hydrogen peroxide
• Powerful oxidant
• Used to lighten your hair by multiple shades, which will give more change to your hair color.
• Suitable for maximum change in your hair colour, such as achieving highlights or lightening your hair for a striking new colour.

Use the oxidizer in combination with the Wella Color Touch hair dye. Below is a step-by-step guide for use, but we recommend that you always read the instructions on the packaging.

• Wear gloves to protect your hands from stains while mixing and applying the hair dye.
• Add the appropriate amount of the oxidizer and paint to a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly until smooth and even.
• Apply the dye to clean, dry hair. Distribute the dye evenly on the desired areas of your hair.
• Let the dye soak in as indicated on the instructions on the packaging. The time may vary depending on the desired color intensity and condition of your hair.
• Rinse the hair dye thoroughly with warm water and then use a mild shampoo and conditioner to wash and moisturize your hair.
