How do I shape my eyebrows?
Are two wild eyebrows bothering you? And would you rather not have them disrupt your facial appearance? No problem! You can easily fix this at home yourself. There are several different methods we will cover. What exactly is the difference between tweezing, trimming, or cutting? We’ll explain it to you in detail below! ;) With these simple steps, your eyebrows will be in top shape again in no time.
Tweezing eyebrows
When tweezing eyebrows, you remove the hairs along with the root using tweezers. This way, the hair stays away longer and doesn’t grow back as stubble. Tweezing provides long-lasting softness and smooth skin for up to 4 weeks! Additionally, the hairs grow back finer and thinner than before, and are often less visible. Tweezing is also suitable for sensitive skin!
Supplies for tweezing eyebrows:
We understand you might be wondering: "Where do I start?", which is logical. So let’s start with the supplies needed for tweezing eyebrows! The supplies are:
1. Determine the shape: First determine how far you can remove hairs using the pencil trick. Hold a pencil straight up along the side of your nose to your eyebrow. This is the point up to which you can tweeze the inside of your eyebrow. Then place the pencil from the side of your nose along the outer edge of your eye. Where the pencil lands is the outermost point of your eyebrow where you can remove hairs. Small reminder: these are just guidelines and may vary slightly for your face.
2. Tweezing: Pull the skin around your eyebrow tight between your fingers. Grab the hairs as close to the root as possible and pull them out in the direction the hair grows. Never tweeze the top of your eyebrow, only the inner, lower, and outer sides. It’s also important to occasionally take a step back to see how it looks.
Tip: Tweeze your eyebrows after showering. The warm water and steam make the skin soft and supple, making it easier and less painful to tweeze your eyebrows, which is much more comfortable!
Trimming eyebrows
Trimming is very easy and is also a good way to thin out your eyebrows. The easiest way is to do this yourself with a nose trimmer, which is smaller than a regular trimmer and therefore works a bit more precisely!
Comb your eyebrows with the eyebrow brush and do this in the direction of hair growth. Turn on the trimmer and move the eyebrow comb from the outer tip of the eyebrow against the direction of hair growth towards the nose. Note: make sure you have the right attachment on the trimmer. Better a little too long and touch up, than suddenly too short!
Trimming eyebrows
If after tweezing or trimming your eyebrows you still have some longer hairs you’d rather not have, you can also choose to trim your eyebrows. This is very easy and we explain below how to do it!
Trimming your eyebrows is actually very simple and you can easily do it yourself at home! Namely: Brush your eyebrows well upwards with an eyebrow brush. Then you can trim the longer, protruding hairs with a small pair of scissors. Be careful not to cut off too much at once!
What can I do about my unibrow?
If you have connected eyebrows, also called a unibrow or monobrow, you naturally want to do something about it as soon as possible! The best way to deal with this is by tweezing the hairs between your eyebrows with a tweezers. Especially do this not with a razor blade or shaver. You will notice that you will get stubble between your eyebrows, oops! When you simply tweeze your eyebrow hairs with tweezers, you also pull out the hair follicles. This causes the hairs to grow back more slowly and you won’t get stubble.
Can I tint my eyebrows too?
Of course you can! Tinting your eyebrows is a smart way to give your eyebrows color and perfect for creating a full look (which is super trendy for men nowadays). By tinting your eyebrows, you can change the color and fullness of your eyebrows in a semi-permanent way.
