Are you spending so much time in the morning filling in your eyebrows? Then it’s time to explore eyebrow tinting! This is a smart Manier to give your brows colour with hardly any effort, leaving you more time in the morning. Curious about what eyebrow tinting exactly entails and how you can easily tint your eyebrows at home? We explain everything in detail below and show you how to easily achieve radiant, open-looking eyes yourself!

What is eyebrow tint?

Eyebrow tinting has become super popular. We can’t ignore the benefits of eyebrow tint! Tinting your eyebrows lets you semi-perManently change their colour and fullness. Eyebrow tint is specially developed for eyebrows (and often eyelashes). It gives a well-covered, weeks-long lasting shade that is light and water-resistant after up to 10 minutes development time! The lash and brow tint from RefectoCil comes in several beautiful colours. Packaged in a 15 ml tube with a free applicator stick.

What can I use to tint my eyebrows?

Want to start tinting your own eyebrows? It’s important to use the right tint. People often wonder if they can use hair dye on their eyebrows — the answer is no! Hair dye is quite agresSiive and usually needs a longer development time than eyebrow tint. If you used hair dye on your eyebrows, it could irritate your eyes and/or skin. So choose a suitable eyebrow tint made for this purpose:

What do you need to tint your eyebrows?

Before tinting your eyebrows yourself, it’s smart to tidy them up first. This way, your brows will look even more beautiful after tinting! Ready? When you tint your own eyebrows, you’ll need the following:

How do I choose the right eyebrow tint colour?

When tinting your brows yourself, it’s important to pick the right colour. For example, choosing a too dark shade quickly gives you a harsh look. At the same time, your eyebrows give your face definition, so you don’t want a colour that’s too light either. When choosing the right colour for your eyebrows, take a good look at your hair colour. If in doubt, we recommend going lighter. You can always tint your eyebrows darker afterwards!

How to tint your eyebrows?

Ready to start tinting your eyebrows? Here’s a step-by-step plan to make sure your brows look Perfect!

  1. Clean your eyebrows well and shape them with a clean eyebrow brush
  2. Apply some Vaseline around your eyebrows (where the tint shouldn’t go). Then wash your hands.
  3. Now you can mix the eyebrow tint in a container. This tint needs to be mixed with hydrogen peroxide. Mix ratio: 1 cm tint : 5 drops Oxidant Liquid OR 1 cm tint: 7 drops Oxidant Cream. Make sure everything is mixed smoothly.
  4. Apply the tint to your eyebrows with the applicator stick included. Try to cover all hairs well, applying with and against the hair growth direction. This way all hairs are properly covered.
  5. Leave the tint to develop for around five to ten minutes (depending on the desired coverage and darkness). Always check the packaging for exact timing. While waiting, use a cotton swab to touch up any spots.
  6. After development, remove the tint with a cotton pad and a little water. That’s it! Now enjoy beautiful tinted eyebrows for weeks :)

A handy tip when tinting: as soon as you apply tint to one brow, start your timer, then move to the other brow and set a second timer. This ensures both brows develop for an equal time. Always read the leaflet that comes with the product before use.

How long does eyebrow tinting take?

Apart from mixing the colour, application often takes no more than five minutes. The average development time of RefectoCil Eyebrow and Lash Tint is up to ten minutes, but always check the packaging for exact timing! The skin around your eyebrows should be protected by Vaseline, so it shouldn’t have any tint on it. If some stains do appear, you can wash them off within two days!

How do I know if I’m allergic to eyebrow tint?

Before you start using eyebrow tint, you want to be sure you’re not allergic. That’s why there’s an allergy test. When using a new product and you’re unsure, you can do a self-test like this:

Apply a small amount of eyebrow tint to the inside of your elbow and cover with a plaster. If after 24 to 48 hours you have no reaction, you’re not allergic to the product ingredients. If you do have a reaction, the product isn’t suitable for you. Luckily, the reaction will be minor—a tiny spot—instead of swollen eyebrows or a fully swollen face.

Can I tint my eyebrows if I have sensitive skin?

Yes, you can! Have you ever experienced redness or irritation after tinting your eyebrows? Your skin might be too sensitive for standard eyebrow tint. In that case, choose the RefectoCil SenSitive Eyebrow and Lash Tint. It’s specially made for sensitive skin, as natural as possible, enriched with many plant extracts. The result doesn’t disappoint—you can enjoy full, richly pigmented brows for six to eight weeks!

Is eyebrow tinting bad for you?

The answer is no! The RefectoCil Eyebrow Tint is semi-perManent and contains no bleach. This makes the tint quite gentle on your eyebrow hairs and totally harmless!

How should I care for my eyebrows after tinting?

Your eyebrows and eyelashes are super sensitive parts of your face, even if it doesn’t seem so. We often forget that our eyebrows deserve care just as much as our scalp hair that gets shampoo and conditioner. Especially when tinted, they need some extra care. For this, the RefectoCil Care Balm IntenSive Night Care was developed! Apply the serum before bedtime, two to three times a week. Your eyebrows get a great boost. The serum nourishes, strengthens and pampers your brows, while also stimulating hair growth! Note! Don’t apply the Care Balm within 24 hours of tinting.
