How does the Glow in the Dark pacifier work?
As parents, we protect our sons and daughters. That's why it’s important to keep asking questions and to think carefully about the materials used in baby products. Especially with pacifiers, since our little ones can have them in their mouths for hours. You don’t want unsafe materials to be released during use. How the BIBS Glow pacifier works is a valid question. The Glow part of the BIBS pacifiers does not go into the mouth. It also does not usually touch your little one’s skin— and if it does, no harmful substances are transferred to your baby ♡
BIBS night pacifiers only need to be exposed to light for three seconds, and then the Glow part glows for up to six hours. The glowing area contains safe, non-radioactive phosphors like zinc sulphide and strontium aluminate.
Is the Glow in the Dark pacifier dangerous?
A common question among parents is: “Are the Glow in the Dark pacifiers dangerous?” This is an understandable question, as there are Glow in the dark sticks containing liquid you wouldn't want ingested. Since this is often the frame of reference, the question is sincerely asked. The BIBS Glow in the Dark pacifiers are not dangerous because they use a glowing part with safe, non-radioactive phosphors like zinc sulphide and strontium aluminate. So you can confidently give your son or daughter a BIBS Glow pacifier. Also, the glowing part doesn’t go into your baby's mouth.
Do you also have BIBS Glow in the Dark Boheme?
BIBS has a beautiful line called the Boheme collection, which is very popular. These pacifiers look different from others on the market. So it makes sense to wonder if the Boheme collection also comes in a Glow variant. Good news: it does! We have two variants from the Boheme collection in our webshop. These are:

Should I clean the BIBS Glow in the Dark pacifiers?
Yes, it's definitely recommended to clean the Bibs Glow in the Dark pacifiers regularly. A Bibs night pacifier is still an ordinary pacifier, only the 'nipple' glows in the dark. The rest of the dummy is the same as a day pacifier. How to clean the night pacifiers? It’s very simple - if your baby is three months or older: just pour a little boiled water over the pacifier. Place it in a drainer or sieve and it's ready to go.
If your baby is younger than three months, for daily cleaning or sterilising, pour boiled water over the pacifier. Do not boil the pacifier in water, as the natural rubber nipple will get damaged. The method above already effectively kills bacteria, which is what you want to achieve, while keeping the BIBS pacifier intact.
Can I use the BIBS Glow pacifiers during the day?
Of course, you can use BIBS night pacifiers during the day, but it’s not necessary. The only difference is the crescent moon that glows in the dark, where you can also attach a pacifier clip. Otherwise, it’s the same pacifier. The difference is the price: night pacifiers are slightly more expensive than regular ones. So we recommend using the regular Bibs pacifier if you don’t need the night function. That’s more cost-effective ;) The BIBS Glow pacifiers cost a little more due to the extra materials used to make the crescent glow in the dark. This prevents night-time hunts for lost pacifiers from being a problem.
How long do BIBS NIGHT pacifiers glow in the dark?
Glow in the Dark pacifiers are a great invention, but how long do they actually glow? And how long do I need to expose them to a lamp or daylight first?
BIBS Glow in the Dark pacifiers glow for up to six hours. So you can ‘charge’ them at bedtime or when you go to bed. You can also use two so you always have one ready if the other stops glowing. Just recharge it in the bathroom or with your phone’s flashlight ;)
Oh, and you only need to expose the Glow in the Dark pacifier to light for 5 to 10 seconds, which is impressively short ;) That leaves you more time to cuddle your son or daughter during the night or just give your baby some attention ♡
