What is a pacifier cord?
A pacifier clip is essentially what the name suggests: a cord that you can attach to a pacifier. It's an ideal baby accessory because it prevents you from constantly losing your pacifier. It also prevents the pacifier from falling on the floor, making it difficult to clean.
Is a pacifier cord safe?
Pacifier clips sold in the Netherlands must meet certain safety requirements. This automatically means that the pacifiers we sell in our webshop are safe. Pacifier clips must comply with the European safety standard NEN12586 *. You can read more about the requirements a pacifier clip must meet below:
- The pacifier cord must be at least 2mm wide, as this affects the strength of the pacifier cord.
- A pacifier clip attached to a pacifier cord must have ventilation holes. These holes must also be a specific size, 4mm.
- Maximum length. According to the NEN-12586 standard, a pacifier cord should never be longer than 22 cm without a pacifier clip. Never make a pacifier cord any longer.
Although we sell pacifier cords, it is still important to take certain precautions:
- Never leave a pacifier cord in bed with your child
- Check the condition of the pacifier cord
- Clean a pacifier clip with a slightly damp cloth and lukewarm water, for example. Soaking it in water affects the lifespan of your pacifier clip.
Is a pacifier cord really useful?
These days, they come up with all sorts of things for the tiniest babies; you can literally buy yourself loads of baby supplies. Of course, you don't want that, and it's certainly not necessary. Is a pacifier clip really useful? This is different for every parent, of course, but generally speaking, parents are very enthusiastic about pacifier clips. You can click them into place, so you won't lose the pacifier. So you don't have to constantly search for a loose pacifier that's been spit out or simply fallen out of your son or daughter's mouth . Where can I attach a pacifier cord?
For safety reasons, it's recommended to only attach a pacifier clip to clothing. However, many parents also attach a pacifier clip to a blanket when their son or daughter is in the stroller and they are present. Keep in mind that there's a choking hazard with a pacifier clip, which is also why there's a maximum length for a pacifier clip. Attaching a pacifier clip to a blanket allows for freedom of movement, and this makes the pacifier clip "longer." That's why you need to be careful how you use the pacifier clip. You can always attach the pacifier clip to a blanket when you're not using it, so you don't want to lose the pacifier and pacifier clip. However, it's recommended to only attach a pacifier clip (when your son or daughter is in use) to clothing.

When do you use a pacifier cord?

While pacifier chains with names are incredibly popular, pacifier chains made of natural materials have also become increasingly popular. These can, of course, be embroidered with a name.
