Babies and care products — there's much to consider. These days, we're more aware of what products contain and whether we want to use them. It spans breastfeeding, food, care, vaccines, clothing, toys, and even screen time for older kids. We parents are becoming more conscious and no longer take things at face value; we understand how marketing works. We know money plays a role. Yet, more brands develop natural care products that keep our babies and children pure! That’s why you’ll only find clean brands here, ones that think carefully about each ingredient's effect. They put themselves in the parent's shoes, and rightly so! Often, these brands were started by parents frustrated with the terrible options out there!
What are the top three best baby shampoos?
There are several good shampoos and/or bodywashes, each brand offers something different. So, we decided to create a top three with the best baby shampoos/bodywashes! Want to order quickly without spending too much time researching? Keep reading! We've done the work for you :)
The less, the better — especially in the first weeks, it’s important to wash your baby as little as possible. You remove natural fats from the skin; using care products impacts the body’s self-regulation. Think of lip balm — if you use it, your lips can actually become dry! At first, just water is enough to wash your baby. Once a week is usually sufficient, but of course, if your baby gets very messy, you can spoil him or her with a lovely shower under the father’s or mother’s chest. A beautiful moment!
A little bodywash or shampoo can be used after a while. The amount needed is small, which means it lasts a long time! That saves money, which is a great bonus.
Which shampoo/bodywash is best for sensitive baby skin?
Babies naturally have sensitive skin, though every baby is different. We always recommend a bodywash that's as natural as possible without harmful ingredients. Fortunately, we only work with brands that truly consider what they put in baby and child care products. It’s well thought out. In principle, you can use anything in our webshop, but if you want the purest baby shampoo, we absolutely recommend the Attitude Baby Shampoo & Bodywash Parfumvrij.
Of course, we advise washing as little as possible and only when needed! Combining these tips with the product means you'll enjoy it for months to come :)
Which ingredients should I avoid when buying for my baby?
Many products contain perfume, which isn’t ideal for babies. Although we love the scent — think Zwitsal — the ingredient isn’t great for you, let alone your baby, since it’s absorbed through the skin. Fortunately, natural perfumes extracted from essential oils are now common. This is always indicated on the packaging; if it’s missing, it's a chemical additive.
Also watch out for drying alcohol ingredients. This may sound odd, but some fatty alcohols are naturally derived and nourishing rather than drying! To keep it simple, avoid alcohol in baby care products whenever possible.
Should I moisturise my newborn's skin after washing?
If you wash your baby, it’s definitely advisable to moisturise them afterwards. Care products always cause some drying. You can minimise this by choosing the most natural and proper ingredients, but it still affects the body. This applies to young and old alike, so even more for the very young!
A good oil, Cream, or natural bodyLotion is highly recommended for your newborn!
We offer several Creams in our webshop, all carefully selected based on Sis made from the most natural ingredients possible. In other words, baby care without rubbish!

Which baby shampoo or body wash won’t sting the eyes?
Of course, we want baby care products used in the shower or bath not to sting the eyes. You simply don’t want that. Very Siple. All baby products here won’t sting because our baby shampoos have a pH level of 7. Why 7? Because baby eyes have a pH of 7! This matches your baby’s tears, so it doesn’t sting! Now you might think, if the shampoo matches the baby’s eye pH, is it good for the hair? Baby shampoo can make hair feel rough, not because of what’s in it but what’s left out! Shampoo is for cleansing only, not caring. It contains cleansing agents but no care ingredients!
Babies don’t need conditioner, for example ;)
