When you turn on the CHI G2 flat iron, the temperature will rise to 180 degrees Celsius. This happens quite quickly, as the CHI G2 heats up in just 30 seconds! Once the CHI G2 has heated up, you can adjust the temperature using the + and – buttons on the display. The temperature will increase or decrease in 5-degree increments.

To use the three fixed temperature settings, the menu button will have to be used.

• 180 degrees - blue display - thin and fine hairs
• 200 degrees - green display - normal hair
• 220 degrees - red display - thick hair

If the menu button is pressed again after the last fixed setting, 220 degrees red, the temperature will return to 160 degrees. From this setting, the temperature can be adjusted to your preference in 5-degree increments.

If you have fine, thin hair, the 180°C setting is perfect. If you have normal-sized hair, 200°C is ideal. If you have thick hair, the 220°C setting is perfect.
