5-HTP is extracted naturally from the Griffonia plant. 5-HTP is produced by the body when L-tryptophan converts to serotonin. 5-HTP is therefore the converted form of L-tryptophan. Because Vitakruid 's 5-HTP is extracted as naturally as possible, you benefit from a highly concentrated dietary supplement, and one capsule is sufficient. 5-HTP is also better absorbed by the body, as it is more difficult for L-tryptophan to cross the blood-brain barrier. This is easier for 5-HTP; it doesn't require any other substances, resulting in a good 70% of 5-HTP ultimately entering the bloodstream. 5-HTP can then be converted into serotonin in the brain. This neurotransmitter is involved in various brain functions and is also a precursor to melatonin. This means that 5-HTP can improve sleep.
