What is eyebrow dye?
Dyeing your eyebrows has become super popular. Now we can't ignore the benefits of eyebrow dye! By dyeing your eyebrows, you can semi-permanently change the color and fullness of your eyebrows. Eyebrow dye is a dye specially developed for eyebrows (and often eyelashes). It provides a well-covering, weeks-long lasting tint that is light and water-resistant with a maximum of 10 minutes processing time! The eyelash and eyebrow dye from RefectoCil is available in several beautiful colors. Packaged in a 15 ml tube with a free applicator stick.
What can I use to dye my eyebrows?
Want to start dyeing your own eyebrows? Then it is important to use the right dye for this. People often wonder if you can dye your eyebrows with hair dye, the answer is no! Hair dye is quite aggressive and usually needs to be left on longer than eyebrow dye. If you dye your eyebrows with hair dye, your eyes and/or skin can get irritated by the hair dye. So choose a suitable eyebrow dye that is made for this:
When you dye your own eyebrows, it's smart to first tidy them up. This makes your eyebrows look even better after dyeing! Ready? If you are going to dye your own eyebrows, you will need the following:
When you dye your eyebrows yourself, it’s of course important to choose the right eyebrow dye color. For example, if you choose a color that’s too dark, it can quickly give you a harsh look. At the same time, eyebrows give definition to your face, so you don’t want to use a color that’s too light either. When choosing a good color for your eyebrows, it’s important to look closely at your hair color. If you’re still unsure, we advise you to go for a lighter color. You can always dye your eyebrows darker later!
How do you dye your eyebrows?
Are you completely ready to start dyeing your eyebrows yourself? Then we have prepared the following step-by-step plan to make sure your brows look perfect!
Clean your eyebrows well and shape them with a clean eyebrow brush
Apply some vaseline to the areas around your eyebrows (where the dye should not get) and then wash your hands.
Now you can use the eyebrow dye mix in a bowl. This dye must be prepared with hydrogen peroxide. Mixing ratio: 1 cm dye : 5 drops Oxidant Liquid OR 1 cm dye: 7 drops Oxidant Cream. Make sure everything becomes a smooth whole.
Apply the dye to the eyebrows with the applicator stick in the packaging. Try to cover all hairs well with dye, dyeing with the direction of hair growth and against it. This way, you can be sure all hairs are well covered with dye.
Let the dye sit for about 5 to 10 minutes (depending on the desired coverage and darkness). Also, be sure to check the packaging for the exact processing time. Use the waiting time to touch up any spots with a cotton swab.
After processing, you can remove the dye with a cotton pad and a little water. That’s it! Now you can enjoy beautifully dyed eyebrows for a few weeks :)
A practical tip when tinting eyebrows: as soon as you apply the tint to one eyebrow, start your timer, then move to the second eyebrow and start a second timer. This way you ensure the processing time is the same for both eyebrows. And always read the leaflet of the product you are using before application.
How long does it take to tint your eyebrows?
Apart from mixing the color, applying it usually takes no more than 5 minutes. The average processing time of the RefectoCil Eyebrow and Eyelash Tint is a maximum of 10 minutes, but always check the packaging for the exact processing time! The skin around your eyebrow should not contain any tint due to the application of petroleum jelly. If some accidentally got on, you will wash it off within two days!
How do I know if I’m allergic to eyebrow tint?
Before you start using eyebrow tint, you naturally want to be sure you’re not allergic to it. That’s what the allergy test is for. When you start with a new product and you’re unsure if you might react to it, you can also do a self-test. It works like this:
Apply a small amount of the eyebrow tint to the inside of your elbow and cover it with a plaster. If after 24 to 48 hours you still have no reaction on the spot, you are not allergic to the ingredients in the product. If you do have a reaction, then you know the product is not suitable for you. Fortunately, you will only have a small spot with an allergic reaction, instead of swollen eyebrows or even a very swollen face.
Can I tint my eyebrows if I have sensitive skin?
Yes, you can! Have you ever experienced redness or irritation after tinting your eyebrows? Then it’s likely that your skin is too sensitive for the "regular" eyebrow tint and you’re best off using the RefectoCil Sensitive Eyebrow and Eyelash Tint go. The RefectoCil Sensitive Eyebrow and Eyelash Tint is specially developed for sensitive skin. This tint is as natural as possible and enriched with many plant extracts. You don’t have to expect less from the result: you can enjoy full, pigmented eyebrows for 6 to 8 weeks!
Is tinting eyebrows bad for you?
The answer to this question is no! The RefectoCil Eyebrow Tint is semi-permanent, and contains no bleach. This makes the tint quite gentle on the hairs and not harmful at all!
How should I care for my eyebrows after tinting?
Your eyebrows and eyelashes are super sensitive parts of your face, even if it might not seem so. We often forget that eyebrows also deserve care. We do give our scalp hair shampoo and conditioner, but why skip that for our eyebrow hairs? Especially if they are dyed, they could use some help. For that, there is the RefectoCil Care Balm Intensive Night Care developed! Apply the serum before sleeping. Do this 2 to 3 times a week. Your eyebrows will get a huge boost from it. The serum nourishes, strengthens, and cares for the eyebrows, and it also stimulates hair growth! Attention! Do not apply the Care Balm within 24 hours after dyeing.
