Vitakruid always uses the most absorbable forms, including those of vitamin K and D. Vitamin D3 is the most absorbable form for the human digestive system because it's the exact same vitamin D our skin produces. Vitamin K2 (manequinone, MK) is produced by bacteria. This might sound a bit strange, but plenty of bacteria are very beneficial to our health! There are different forms of manequinone, yet this substance is only found in small amounts in our food. Japanese natto, a fermented soybean product, is very rich in MK-7. Manequinone-7 is the most absorbable form and even won an award for it in 2015! Three guesses as to which form of manequinone Vitakruid uses in this formula... ;)

Vitamin D, better known as the sunshine vitamin, is important for calcium metabolism. Vitamin D3 not only promotes improved cell differentiation, a healthy immune system, good muscle function, healthy teeth, and strong bones, but also increases calcium absorption. Despite this increased calcium absorption, the vitamin doesn't regulate where all that calcium ends up. This can lead to calcium deposits, which is something we naturally want to avoid! That's why vitamin K2 and D3 work perfectly together. Vitamin K2 ensures that calcium is regulated and ends up in the right place.
