Make-up routine, #1: Care
Start with cleansing your face. A clean skin is the foundation of every make-up look! Then start caring for your face, for example with a face cream. It’s wise to spend some time on your skin before applying your make-up routine. The choices for skincareare endless and you can make it as extensive as you want! A few more do's and don'ts:
✔ Apply make-up on a clean face
✔ Apply SPF under your make-up before you go outside
✖ Don’t go to sleep with make-up on, this can clog pores and cause spots.
Make-up routine, #2: Primer
After caring for your face, it’s best to apply a primer. A primer is a layer between your face and your make-up that makes it easier to apply your make-up. But that’s not all: a primer also ensures your make-up lasts longer and stays beautifully even. Want to give your skin a glow? Or would you rather have a corrective primerthat help you get rid of redness? That’s possible! We have various primers in our assortment, for different skin types. A few do's and don'ts:
✔ Let the primer absorb before you start with the make-up
✖ Don’t use it all over your face, but on dry spots or oily areas
Make-up routine, #3: Concealer
The next step in the make-up routine is the concealer. Dark circles, blemishes, and red spots on your face are a thing of the past with the help of concealer! In addition, you can also brighten certain areas of your face with concealer, giving you an easy fresh look. A few do’s and don’ts:
✔ Blend the concealer with your fingers, the warmth of your fingers helps with blending
✖ Don’t use oily concealer under the eyes, it can settle into fine lines
Make-up routine, #4: Foundation
Now that you have concealed unwanted spots or brightened your under eyes with concealer, you can start applying the foundation. Foundation is a nice base, it evens out the skin. There are so many different types and brands of foundations, whether you are looking for a liquid foundation, cream foundation or even a foundation stick, on this page we explain which one suits your skin type best: foundation. You can apply foundation with your fingers, or with a brush or a sponge. Be sure to wash the sponge and brush regularly to prevent bacteria buildup. This also helps prevent pimples. Extra tip: it’s better to apply too little foundation first than too much. You can always add more foundation to achieve the desired result! Too much foundation gives an unnatural and cakey effect. A few do’s and don’ts:
✔ Match your foundation with your own skin tone, neck, and décolleté
✔ Wash your brush and make-up sponge regularly to prevent impurities,
✔ Blend the foundation well along the jawline to avoid a line
✔ Apply the foundation (and the rest of your make-up) in natural daylight
✖ Don’t apply too much foundation, it will look unnatural and heavy.
Make-up routine, #5: Powder
Often people think that a face powderonly effective for people with oily skin. Yes, a face powder works wonders in preventing shine throughout the day, but there are many more benefits! A face powder will make your makeup last longer, enhance its appearance, and remove any 'cakey' effect. Additionally, with face powder (just like with concealer!), you can add more contour to your face by applying a thicker layer on areas you want to 'highlight.' This could be under your eyes, cheekbones, chin, or bridge of your nose. This last part, contouring, actually goes hand in hand with the next step.
Make-up routine, #6: Highlighting & Contouring
Now it’s time for the next step: Highlighting & Contouring. With a highlighter and/or bronzer, you can perfectly create a sharp jawline, a narrower nose, a smaller forehead, and prominent cheekbones. There are many ways to contour your face. For example, you can choose different types of products depending on what feels best on your skin: powder contour, cream contour, or a contour stick. You can also contour your face with bronzer. Bronzing gives your face the same effect as contouring, but it also adds a nice glow! With highlighter, you can perfectly brighten the parts of your face where the sun naturally hits. A few do's and don'ts:
✔ Check whether warm, neutral, or cool tones suit your skin color for the best effect
✖ Don’t start contouring with a color that’s too dark; you can always add more later
Make-up routine, #7: Blush
Blushgives your cheeks a bit of color, resulting in a fresher, healthier, and more radiant appearance! If you naturally have a pale complexion, applying blush can bring your entire face back to life. Blush also helps with shaping your face. We have various shades and undertones of blush available online, something for every skin type! One small tip: don’t smile when applying blush to the apples of your cheeks. When you smile, your cheeks lift, which means that when you’re not smiling, the blush will be too low and close to your mouth. A few do's and don'ts:
✔ Blush on the upper part of your cheekbones
✔ Make sure to choose a color that matches your skin tone
✖ Don’t smile while applying your blush
✖ Blush with too many glitter particles, that’s what highlighter is for!
Makeup routine, #8: Eyes
Now that your face is ready to go, it’s time for the eyes. If you’re going for an eyeshadow look and you know you smudge a lot/quickly with eyeshadow powder, you can start your makeup routine with the eyes after applying primer. This prevents your cheeks (which you just carefully made up) from getting covered in glitter or eyeshadow smudges. Okay, back to the eyes!
Eye makeupcan make you look completely different in no time! Going for a natural look? Then you can keep it simple by applying mascara. It makes your eyes look bigger and lengthens your lashes. But again, there are no rules in makeup, so feel free to use the colors you like! Then you can accentuate your eyes by applying a eyeliner pencil or eyeliner. Here are some do's and don'ts:
✔ Open the mascara slowly to prevent air from getting into the bottle. This dries out the mascara.
✖ Do not remove waterproof mascara with a regular remover, but with waterproof eye makeup remover
✖ Do not apply a new layer of mascara if the first layer is already dry and has been on for a while.

Of course, we all want naturally perfect eyebrows, but unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with them. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to create perfect eyebrows yourself! For example, you can choose to make your eyebrows fuller by using a eyebrow pencil. Or would you rather save some time in the morning? Then your eyebrow tinting a good option. A eyebrow serum often contains ingredients that stimulate the growth of eyebrow hairs. Perfect if you have few to no eyebrow hairs! A few do's and don'ts:
✔ Maintains the natural shape of your eyebrows
✔ Tweeze your eyebrows after showering, then the pores are open and the hairs are easier to tweeze
✖ Avoid a shade that is too dark, this prevents a heavy look
Makeup routine, #10: Lips
Complete your makeup look by adding a lip product to add! Whether you go for a classy look or an extra shiny party look, you can make it as elaborate as you want! You can choose to first outline your lips with a lipliner, this ensures the lipstick stays on better. Then apply the lipstick or lip gloss. It’s up to you! A few do's and don'ts:
✔ Choose a color that is not too close to your natural lip color, as it can give a pale look
