Which makeup products do I use to create a beautiful, natural look?
Do you like to wear makeup but prefer a natural look? No problem, with these selected makeup must-haves you can create the perfect natural look:
Use a primer to apply your makeup. A primer ensures that your pores are filled, making your makeup last longer and look healthy and radiant.
As a base for your natural look, it's best to go for a liquid foundation, for example the L'Oreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation. This foundation covers well but does not give a cakey effect. Make sure to apply everything in thin layers, preferably with a beautyblender. The sponge blends the foundation into the skin rather than on the skin. For extra coverage of dark circles and blemishes, the Maybelline The Eraser Multi-Use Concealer perfect! This Concealer has a sponge so you can apply it easily. In addition, a powder really a must-have! The powder mattifies the skin, making your skin look even and natural.
For a natural look, it's best to go for a light blush on your cheeks and possibly a little bit of bronzer to highlight your cheekbones. But keep it natural, less is more!
If you want to go for a natural look, it's best to only use mascara on your eyes. Eyeshadow could also work, but then choose a light natural color to create a beautiful, natural look! For your eyebrows, it's best to choose a product that matches your own hair color the most. And use an eyebrow gel for the finishing touch!
Lipstick can instantly change a calm, natural look into a bold look! For a natural look, you can use a transparent gloss, for example the Maybelline Lifter Gloss Lipgloss. Should I apply a primer before putting on my makeup?
Primer is a product worn under foundation. Primer is a good base before you start with your makeup; it ensures that the makeup stays in place well and lasts longer. There are also primers that provide a matte effect or a shiny effect. Or choose a colored primer to counter discoloration in your face. Want your makeup to stay in the same place all day? Then a primer is definitely recommended!
Why is it good to remove your makeup before going to sleep?
Everyone experiences it - time to go to bed but you really don't feel like removing your makeup. It seems so tempting, but it's better not to skip it. Your skin repairs itself at night. If you don't remove your makeup in the evening, your skin doesn't get oxygen and it repairs itself more slowly and less effectively during the night. By removing your makeup, you reduce the chance of clogged pores and pimples.
Removing your eye makeup is also essential. If you don't, particles of eyeshadow or mascara can get into your eyes, causing red, irritated eyes. Additionally, your eyelashes can break if you don't remove your mascara. Always remove your lipstick as well to prevent your lips from drying out. Your skin comes into contact every day with bacteria, environmental pollutants, fungi, and mites that stick to the makeup. If you don't remove your makeup in the evening, dirt, dust, and free radicals penetrate deeper into your skin and cause a lot of damage. Which foundation suits my skin type?
In our assortment, you can find different types of foundation from various brands that suit different skin types. Below we have listed some foundations:

What is the best way to apply my foundation?
What is actually the best way to apply your foundation? We got you! The KASHŌKI Sponge Raindrop is definitely recommended. Wet the sponge before use, this makes it expand and gives you a larger surface. Then take some foundation on your palm and dab the sponge in the foundation. Then blend the foundation on your face by dabbing. The sponge ensures that you blend the foundation evenly on your face for a natural result.
The KASHŌKIFlat Foundation Brush is also recommended. This is a brush with which you can easily apply foundation. Take a little foundation on your palm, dab the foundation brush in it, and then apply it by dabbing on the face. The foundation brush distributes your foundation evenly over your face and also provides good coverage.

What different mascara brushes are there?
Mascara brushes come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. We explain the most common brushes to you:
Rubber mascara brush - Plastic brushes help you separate your lashes well and help lengthen the lashes. A rubber mascara brush with teeth spaced further apart gives a natural look. Such a brush holds little mascara, giving you a beautiful, defining look. If the teeth are closer together, the lashes are well separated and you create a more precise definition without clumps. The lashes are well caught in the brush, allowing you to create beautiful length.
Hairy mascara brush - A natural brush gives your lashes a soft, light look while making them more voluminous. It deposits more mascara because a hairy brush can absorb mascara more easily.
Thick vs. thin mascara brush - There is also a difference between a thick and a thin mascara brush. If you have shorter lashes, a short brush is perfect because you can get close to the lash roots. A thick mascara brush makes it harder to reach the roots. Such a brush does give a lot of volume, highly recommended if you have longer lashes.
Curved (round) mascara brush - A round brush with long hairs or teeth grabs every lash. It curves perfectly around your lashes. A brush with hairs deposits a lot of mascara on the lashes because the hairs can absorb the mascara well. Note: this brush usually also deposits mascara faster on the eyelid. A round brush with rubber teeth also gives your lashes a lot of volume and keeps the lashes well separated.
Which mascara brush suits my lashes best?
There are so many types of mascara brushes, each having a different effect on your lashes. So it's important to see what your lashes need.
Straight-forward lashes - You will probably love being able to create curled lashes in no time. To achieve this, it's best to use a curved mascara brush. A round brush grabs every lash. Use a thin brush so you can start close to the lash roots.
Thin lashes - Do you dream of thick, full lashes? Then a hairy brush with long bristles is perfect for you! Such a hairy brush releases a lot of mascara that can embrace your lashes, while the long bristles ensure your lashes stay nicely separated and don't stick together.
Clumpy lashes - Clumpy lashes are easily fixed with a rubber brush where the combs are closer together. This way, the brush grabs each hair separately so the lashes stay well separated. Must-have!
Short lashes - If you have short lashes, we recommend choosing a brush that is not too thick. With a thin brush, you can easily reach the lash base. Decide for yourself whether you want a hairy or rubber brush.
Long lashes - Wow, lucky girl! If you have this naturally, you can say you're lucky because everyone wants this. We recommend choosing a mascara brush with long, rubber bristles that stand next to each other like a hair comb. This way, your lashes get beautifully lengthened without sticking together.
How do I use mascara?
The most common way to apply mascara is: sweep the brush from the lash base in a zigzag motion towards the tips. This creates voluminous, separated lashes. Don't focus too much on the ends of your lashes; the base is just as important! For full lashes, it's important to start at the base. When you make the zigzag motion, hold the mascara for a few seconds when you're halfway through your lashes. This pushes the curl into your lashes.
Tip! Absolutely do not pump the mascara and don't keep it open too long. This lets oxygen into the mascara, causing it to dry out faster.
One more tip! Cotton swabs are amazing: you can correct any mistake with them. Just make sure to wet it a bit so you don't get fluff in your lashes.
How long can I use mascara?
Do you also have a forgotten mascara lying around from who knows when? You better throw these away. After opening a mascara, you can use it for about 12-16 weeks. This is because the active ingredients dry out and bacteria start to accumulate over time. The bacteria get into the mascara because you take the brush out of the tube, apply it to your lashes, and then put it back in the tube. You don't have to worry immediately, as bacteria always go back into the tube and are not harmful at first. After 4-5 months, it can cause irritation. So replace your mascara if it:
- Gritty
- Clumps
- Dries out
- Stinks
- Irritates
Tip! Is your mascara almost finished but you don’t have a new one yet? Put it in a bowl of hot water for a while, this will make the mascara liquid again. But as we explained above, it’s better to buy a new one soon. ;)
How can I remove mascara clumps?
First, check the brush to see if it’s free of clumps before applying mascara to your lashes. This already prevents a lot of clumps. Do you have clumps in your lashes? You can 'pick' or 'wipe' them out with the tip of the mascara wand. A cotton swab is also ideal, but make sure to wet it first. Otherwise, you’ll have little cotton swab hairs stuck in your lashes. A tissue is also an option, but this requires precision and you’ll probably have to reapply the mascara. ;)
What is the difference between ‘regular’ mascara and waterproof mascara?
As a Dutch person, we all know this: an unexpected rain shower, soaking wet clothes, and mascara down to your chin. The solution: waterproof mascara. With waterproof mascara, you’re in control during a rain shower and the mascara stays on your lashes! This can also be seen as a 'disadvantage': waterproof mascara can stubbornly stay on your lashes. Removing waterproof mascara with water is not an option. This can leave some mascara on your lashes, which can damage your lashes or the thin skin around them. It’s a trade-off you can best decide yourself: do you go for waterproof mascara or regular mascara?
How do I apply/keep my lashes in good condition?
Now you’re probably curious about how to get and keep your lashes in good condition. We’ve put together a few tips:
- Never wear eye makeup for too long in a row. Always remove eye makeup before going to sleep.
- Remove eye makeup with a gentle oil without too much perfume
- Also, don’t rub your lashes too hard. Tip: apply the oil on a cotton pad, place it on your lashes for a few seconds, and you can remove it in one swipe!
- You can use an eyelash serum or oil to nourish and hydrate your lashes. Absolute recommendation: castor oil or aloe vera.
- Do not use waterproof mascara, it has a rather hard texture.
Which mascaras are ophthalmologically tested?
If you have sensitive eyes or allergies easily, you will definitely benefit if a product is ophthalmologically tested. If the product is ophthalmologically tested, it is suitable for use around the eyes. Well tested and suitable for the eyes and sensitive skin! With the mascaras from Maybelline you’re all set.
How do I know which make-up suits me?
